It’s been nearly 18 months since we last had a Showtime show that tossed back and forth between dual timelines of twisted survivalist teens and their equally disturbed adult counterparts. Yellow shirt army. Now, we only have to wait a few more months before we get back to the issue of teenage cannibalism and adult trauma. declare Today the show’s third season will begin on February 14, 2025.
The series tells the story of a group of high school girls who survive a plane crash that strands them in the wilderness as their moral compass slowly bends, allowing whatever happens to ensure survival – even if it means violence, Go on a drug binge, eat your dead teammates, or watch another teammate explode in mid-air after trying to fly a plane for help. Featuring a stellar cast including Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Sophie Thatcher, the show was an instant hit when it premiered in late 2021.
Season 2 was a bit of a letdown, mostly because the severity of the two timelines didn’t always line up. While the teen timeline depicts harrowing events such as a stillbirth, the first death in the group, and the burning down of their only refuge, the adult timeline leans too heavily towards the adult Lottie (Simon Keyser) Elle) and an insane cult led by adult Shauna (Simone Kessell) (Melanie Lynskey), who is on the run from the investigation into her Season 1 murder – and her extramarital affair. There’s no doubt that there won’t be a resolution. The show is at its best when all of its protagonists face their problems together, but season two takes too long to reunite the adult timeline’s “gang.”
From the appearance Season 3 promotional photosthe new season may solve this problem. The images depict adult and teenage versions of each protagonist – some hugging, some standing as if unaware of each other, and still others exchanging glances. not only Yellow shirt army Co-Founder Ashley Lyle Tell vanity fair The photos hint at overlapping timelines for certain characters in the new season, but she also revealed, “We’ll learn more about what happened in the wilderness. [the adults] Too scared to come out.
The trailer released today also shows off the chaos of Season 3. We see what appears to be several teenagers dressed in animal pelts, suffocating and threatening each other, while teen Shauna (Sophie Nellis) once again yells into the void. At the end of season two, their cabin burned down in the middle of winter, and life as a scavenger seemed to drive the girls crazy.
