Like a Dragon: Hawaii’s Pirate GangA new spin-off game, Like A Dragon, which will be launched early next year, was announced at the 2024 RGG Summit today.
The game will be a swashbuckling action-adventure game with Goro Majima as the sole protagonist for the first time in the series’ history, similar in style to last year’s Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased his Name.

The game appears to use a lot of locations and assets from Yakuza: Infinite Fortune – the story takes place in Hawaii, where Majima mysteriously rushes to the island after forgetting who she is, and meets a man named Noah Rich. ) – There are also some new additions, including a pirate center named Madlantis, which is an incredible name.
Set against the backdrop of the events of Infinite Fortune and dealing with the aftermath of Kasuga Ichiban’s plan to stop the cult Palekana, you’ll be able to explore the game’s Hawaii map, as well as Madlantis and Rich Island, the latter of which is located in Majima. Start calling boy after boy. Pointless was first added as a set.

The pirate ship deck shown featured some hand-to-hand combat among the crew, and it looks like Majima does have a chance to become a pirate captain, but we’ll have to wait and see if Assassin’s Creed Black Flag -style ship combat makes its way into the mix. Now, I’d say it doesn’t look like it, but then again, I’d say there’s a good chance RGG’s next game will be a Majima Pirates title, so who knows. However, according to the rules, there will be a lot of side activities.
Yakuza: Pirates of Hawaii will be released on February 28, 2025 for PS5/PS4, Xbox Series X/S/Xbox One, and PC.
After all, last year’s RGG Summit on September 20 was also quite newsworthy, revealing the exact release date of Yakuza: Infinite Fortune and several trailers for the game, as well as showing off Yakuza Gaiden: Grand Theft Auto ‘s opening.
RGG has also just announced that “Yakuza: Like a Dragon” will be released on Nintendo Switch in October, and the “Yakuza: Like a Dragon” TV series Prime Video will also be launched that month.
