X Your posts will now be visible to users you’ve blocked. X owner Elon Musk said in a reply on Monday that “the blocking feature will prevent the account from participating in public posts, but it will not prevent it from viewing.”
Currently, when X attempts to view the profile of someone who has blocked you, a “You have been blocked” message is displayed. In addition to blocking all posts, it also prevents you from viewing their responses, media, followers, and follower lists.
A source at X told edge The platform is making this change as people can already view blocked users’ posts while using a different account or logged out, and several of us are edge Noticed (myself included) that X actually prevents you from viewing someone’s profile if you log out.
While X’s block button will continue to prevent someone from interacting with someone’s posts, they will still be able to see them, which could make it easier for bad actors to continue harassing victims.
