Just a week before the highly anticipated release of Black Myth: Wukong, the game’s developers released a benchmark tool on Steam so people could measure how well their hardware can handle the game.
The official Steam page states: “We have ensured that the benchmark test results are very close to the expected performance when playing “Black Myth: Wukong”. However, due to the complexity and variability of the game scene, the test results may not fully represent the actual game experience and ultimate performance.” result.
“Your benchmark results can help development teams better identify potential software and hardware compatibility issues before the game is officially released.”
Surprisingly, this tool has attracted a surprising number of users. According to SteamBD, the benchmark tool has reached a peak of 83,947 concurrent players since its launch at 2 a.m. UTC on August 13.
Despite how beautiful the game looks, its minimum and recommended specs are surprisingly low.

I personally like the decision to release a benchmarking tool because it’s a very consumer-friendly thing to do. Minimum and recommended specs are helpful, but being able to actually run tests against the game itself is even more useful for determining how well the game will run.
According to users on Reddit and Steam pages, the game appears to be working well. Of course, keep in mind that this little snippet may perform very differently than the actual full game.
