For Gala and her family, traveling through women’s land has been a long and winding road.
The adventure is finally here – well, not an end, but a new beginning.
Even though the season is only six episodes long, Land of Women delivers Apple TV+-quality drama and intrigue.

In the final episode of the premiere season, viewers may have noticed something about the show.
That said, this isn’t the same show that started six episodes ago.
So, without further ado, let’s take another walk to women’s land.

This is a story about wine, women and what they are capable of.
Women’s Land is stuck on the landing from start to finish
It’s hard to believe that just a month ago, Eva Longoria was once again entering viewers’ homes to flex her comedic muscles.

While the series always promised to deliver hilarious binge-watching, many people (myself included) received much more than that.
A Place for Women unintentionally changes the focus.
It went from being about a family of women on the run to becoming a true story of the same name.
The Apple TV+ series uses a “bait and switch” approach to bring a lot of laughs to viewers while also telling them a story about survival.
After the first few episodes, “A Place for Women” transitions into an episode about the women of Xatart and their legacy.
But more than that, it’s about the strength and resilience of a town and the wine they put their heart and soul into.

They may have been lagging behind for a while, but Gala brought hope to the otherwise lost cause of small-town wine.
The purpose of running away is to find a new beginning.
Thankfully, they did just that and healed the scars of trauma for generations.

Julia’s Journey to the Land of Women
Speaking of intergenerational trauma, Julia may have had the most extraordinary journey of growth in the entire series.
She left Lamouga, a frightened young woman with a baby on a boat, not knowing what she would find in America.

Whether by fate or coincidence, the Xatart matriarch was brought back to a town that was slowly recovering in her wake.
It’s definitely fun to watch her walking around town with a lot of older men’s eyes on her.
However, Julia may have the biggest reason to return to Ramuga, even if she doesn’t realize it.
Even starring Eva Longoria’s soiree, Julia set the standard for how the town welcomed Xatart women.
Of course, Julia had slept with half the village in her youth, but she didn’t care.
No, the only thing that matters to the older Xatart woman is to finally meet her sister and reconcile with her.

But now that the matter has been resolved, who is Gala’s father?
Andrew and the Priest get the results, but the writers clearly thought keeping it a mystery would create an effective suspense.
I mean, it is, but come on!

Gala and her gang tear up women’s land
We have to admit that Gala tolerated too many people who seemed to only complicate matters.
From the moment Gala arrives at Ramuga, male chaos strikes from all sides.

First there’s Emmat, who is the bane of her existence, but we always knew that would lead to an “enemy to lover” situation.
The news of Montes’ pregnancy seemed to give Gala a headache.
And there’s Fred, played by James Beaufoy (“The Veil”).
What a fool he is, he just shows up and expects to be the white knight in shining armor saving Gala.
For a progressive parent, Fred’s arrogance was as great as his incompetence in business.
Of course, we now know he wasn’t having an affair and was just trying to figure things out.

But that still doesn’t change the fact that this situation wouldn’t exist without his constant lies.
Unfortunately, we don’t know how much money Fred had in the safe on the cruise ship.
But it sounds like he might have enough money to at least get Tony off Gala.

A Place for Women Will Always Capture Our Hearts
Considering all the suspense, there’s Gala’s father, Amat’s child, and now there’s the dead killer on the road.
Maybe these thugs now have a purpose besides being cliche slapstick killers.

They really can’t decide if they know what they’re doing or if they’re just bumbling idiots.
The only thing the show fails at is giving Kevin, played by Amaury Nolasco (“Hightown”), and Hank, played by Jim Kitson (“Red King”), such important roles.
They continue to draw inspiration from Gala’s most interesting stories and help the women of the town make great wine.
If there’s one more thing I have to question, it’s that the magical mechanic and hero who lit the fire under Kate never got a name.
seriously? How do the writers and producers treat a character who appears in almost every episode so harshly?

Thankfully, Gala and her daughters are not going anywhere now.
Fans of the series hope to see more mechanics and all the lovable characters in La Muga.

All that remains now is for Apple+ TV to renew the series for another season, which could be renewed at any time.
Although some viewers struggled with the show’s language barrier, critics praised “In the Land of Women” for its writing, acting, and overall storytelling.

No matter what the future holds for the women of Xatart, we will always be grateful for the time spent with them in the land of women.
