If you were only paying attention to the PC version released on Steam, you might have missed the release of Spacer Fire’s new game, Witch Fire. It hit the Epic Games Store about a year ago, and despite not having much content at launch, it received almost universally positive reviews.
We also happen to be big fans of Witchfire, and for those eagerly awaiting the game’s release on Steam, the developers have some really good news.

Astros have announced that Witchfire will be available on Steam Early Access later this year. The game is not finished yet and will not be finished when logged into Steam. That’s why it will continue its Early Access journey on Steam alongside the Epic Games Store.
While there’s no exact launch date yet (sometime in Q4), we’re guessing it could launch around October. If you want to stay up to date, you might want to add it to your wishlist on Steam in the meantime.
The version Steam players will be able to access later this year will include even more content, including today’s big drop: the Wailing Tower. The update includes a brand new map with some cosmic horror themes. It also comes with a new set of enemies, gear, and more.
Witchfire combines elements of extraction games with classic shooter and RPG mechanics. While the loop still exists, some major changes have been made to make the initial journey more interesting. Earn new loot, new skills, and streamlined progression to make you stronger sooner. The pickup changes are so dramatic, in fact, that the Astros are calling them Arcana 2.0.
If this big update piques your interest, you can play Witchfire now on the Epic Games Store.
