As you wander the wilds of Appalachia, you might notice what looks like a strangely dressed ghoul stumbling toward you along a cracked sidewalk. It’s actually a scorched earth, nothing special, but lately you may have seen them in festive outfits. The bright red and white dress of the Scorched Earth Wanderer stands out in the desolate post-apocalypse, and if you can successfully defeat the other survivors, you can actually farm the Scorched Earth during your desolate vacation. Fallout 76 to get generous rewards. Why do you want to do this? Well, keep reading.
As part of the holiday jitters event Fallout 76, many spots around Appalachia are now hosting holiday scorched earth events you might want to farm. If you do, you will receive prizes in the form of a Small Holiday Gift, a Regular Holiday Gift, and a Large Holiday Gift. The bigger the gift box, the better the rewards inside. Oh, and you can also make gifts. But more on that later!
Here’s where to plant the Holiday Scorched before the event ends on August 6, 2024!
Anxious about where to farm during the holidays
First, to identify holiday angst, look for bright colors, especially red and white jackets and dresses. When you get close to one of the holiday enemies, they will play holiday music. Honestly, they’re hard to miss.
But most importantly, you have to farm in the right location, for example:
- Morgantown Airport (appearance)
- Taylor County Fair
- Bolton Green
- Hevitia
- Willard’s Water Park
- Camden Park
You’re likely to stumble upon Festive Scorched Earth at any point of interest where regular Scorched Earth would normally appear, but these six locations tend to have the best luck.
That said, they are also the places most frequented by the community. You might head to the Morgantown Airport, as I did this morning, only to find that the entire camp is devoid of any enemies. Then the same thing happened at Bolton Green. People seem to be more willing to attend the event than usual, so expect some company.
Alternatively, if you subscribe to Fallout 1st, you can enter a private world. This is the best way to farm Holiday Scorch without having to compete with an entire server of interested players.
How to Make Your Own Holiday Gifts
As mentioned before, instead of growing holiday scorch, you can make your own holiday gifts. First, you have to purchase gift wrapping paper from a train station vendor or Grahm. They will sell you:
- Low quality gift packaging
- Medium quality gift packaging
- High quality gift packaging
But these items turned out to be quite expensive. For example, high-quality gift wrapping can cost up to $2,000 or more, and the potential rewards vary widely.
Once you’ve obtained your gift wrap, head to the Tinker’s Workbench in camp to craft festive gifts. You’ll need to spend resources as well as gift wrapping, so stock up on materials in advance!
