What’s next for the developers of Fallout: London? “Hopefully” to open their own independent studio – of course, after they add more missions and fix some bugs

Fallout: London has been a hit with fans, and it sounds like the production team is hoping to come together and make their own game.

It’s been a long time coming, but the highly anticipated mod for Fallout: London was finally released last month, and so far it’s been met with incredibly positive reviews, including from our very own Mark, who reviewed this DLC-sized mod and gave it four out of five stars. Of course, while there are still bugs to work out and more content promised in the future, the Fallout: London team has other plans besides the massive mod. The mod’s project lead, Dean Carter, recently spoke with the BBC about the aftermath of the project, discussing the team’s feelings about releasing it and their next steps (thanks to PCGamesN). Notably, Carter said they “hope” to continue building their own independent studio so they can pay the bills.

Carter explained, “As much as I love that this is a free program and we can provide this for free to all communities, free doesn’t pay our bills.” He continued: “The great thing for us is that a lot of People like it very much [Fallout: London] Donations have been made to us and we are transferring them to the Fulong team and that is the team we are going to go into. We should want to launch our own indie games company that would allow us to come up with our own ideas, create our own games and work… without having to talk to anyone above us like Bethesda or similar something.

“It will be entirely our own thing and we can create a game that we want and that we think the community will enjoy. Fallout London is a great springboard.”

Carter also pointed out again how Fallout: London will receive “all the content we had to cut for launch. We have an alternate ending, which we’re calling the wildcard ending – it will be coming in a future patch . That’s not going to happen anytime soon; we can foresee that we’ll be working on it until the end of the year.

Mark also recently discussed with Carter one of the biggest issues in the modding community, paid mods, which you can read about here .
