Tower of Fantasy developer Hotta Studio has revealed its next game, Neverness to Everness, a wild-looking game that combines a bunch of your favorite games.
Grand Theft Auto as a series is already pretty ridiculous, but Hotta Studio looks set to top that with Neverness to Everness (said to be five times faster), its latest upcoming ’s open-world role-playing game that clearly borrows inspiration from Rockstar’s game series. Earlier today, Hotta released a trailer and first look at gameplay for what looks to be a promising new game. One of them is the GTA element. Unlike the fantasy worlds of Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy, Neverness to Everness has an urban environment that, like GTA, you can drive into while damaging various properties.

I can’t tell from the trailer whether you’ll be able to jump into any GTA vehicle you like, but you can at least customize your vehicle. The game is set in NTE Supernatural City, and it looks like it has a driving aspect to it as well, as part of the trailer shows you chasing a ghost motorcycle through the city. Oddly enough, while wandering around on foot, these supernatural elements seem to be borrowed from the Steward’s books. While exploring the city, the trailer shows everything going weird, with residents disappearing and a bunch of vending machines forming some kind of door.

Next comes the combat section, which literally sees you fighting haunted vending machines, and once completed, you’re transported into a surreal area that constantly changes shape – which particularly reminded me of the Federal Bureau of Control. Combat looks similar to Genshin Impact again, simple but gorgeous with an emphasis on action.
You also seem to be able to buy an apartment, or at least rent one (the trailer isn’t in English, so I don’t know), which again feels very GTA. On top of that, you also seem to be able to walk on walls and ceilings, which reminds me of Gravity Dash, albeit without the gravity-shifting aspect – oh, and of course, you also have the Breath of the Wild equivalent of a glider, Like almost every open world game out there these days.

There’s no word on a release date yet, but more news is expected in September (presumably during the Tokyo Game Show taking place at that time). In the meantime, you can go to the game website to pre-register.
