Okay, you’ve read the title. Are you affected by the Early Access patch issue that resulted in some PS5 Star Wars: Outlaws players ending up being forced to start a new game or get stranded in space? If so, you may now receive an email from Ubisoft offering you some compensation for… well… not much.
As you read on this nifty site yesterday, some people who invested in early access to the game (which launches on August 30th for non-Deluxe Special Edition regular players) ended up being advised by Ubisoft on PS5 Start a new save after deploying patch 1.000.002 on your platform to avoid issues with save files originally made on older versions of the game.

In an email to potentially affected players, Ubisoft warned: “If you continue a previous save, you will unfortunately face issues and progress blocks.” Now it has sent a follow-up outlining its plan to remedy the situation. Those who are forced back to square one.
“We fully acknowledge that asking you to start a new game, especially during Early Access, is not the best experience, and we deeply apologize for that,” reads an update from the publisher. “In order to get you back out there, What’s even more special is that we will grant you an in-game Pathfinder cosmetic as well as 100 Ubisoft Connect units (for example, to be redeemed for in-game rewards), and we are actively working to add Ubisoft Connect units to your account so you can Can.
Well, there you have it, a trinket you can use to dress up your Trailblazer, and 100 Ubisoft Connect units. The latter are basically Ubisoft Store loyalty points, typically earned every time you purchase something through the Ubisoft Store or upgrade your Ubisoft account by completing Ubisoft Connect challenges. I don’t know about you, but this vaguely triggered some of my “accidentally clicking the wrong menu button in Assassin’s Creed” memories.
Affected players on Reddit aren’t thrilled with the rewards, but it’s at least nice to see the publisher making an effort to offer some sort of compensation for the inconvenience.
