Blockchain-based role-playing game Onchain Heroes has announced a partnership with Abstract, a consumer-focused blockchain developed by Igloo Inc.
The partnership aims to bring the game’s fully on-chain experience to life by leveraging Abstract’s infrastructure, which is designed for scalability and seamless user interaction.
Originally slated for release in Season 3, Onchain Heroes is now scheduled to be released on Abstract in Q4 2024.
What is an on-chain hero?
Onchain Heroes is an idle role-playing game that offers players a variety of strategic decisions based on their risk tolerance. Players can choose to play conservatively or opt for high-risk, high-reward gameplay, making it a dynamic and engaging experience.
The game also features a staking component that allows players to invest in game mechanics and adapt their strategies to changing circumstances, adding further complexity.
The game, developed by Skarly, the former lead developer of Wolf Game, has been compared to other popular blockchain games such as Raid Party and Crypto Valleys.
Why is this partnership significant?
Abstract is a layer 2 blockchain that leverages zkSync’s ZK rollup technology to enable faster transactions with lower fees while maintaining the security of Ethereum. This technology backbone provides a scalable and secure platform for Onchain Heroes’ on-chain mechanisms. Additionally, Abstract’s Global Wallet (AGW) simplifies the user experience, making the game suitable not only for blockchain-savvy players but also for those new to web3 gaming.
The partnership also integrates dApps directly into Onchain Heroes, allowing players to interact with other elements of the Abstract ecosystem without leaving the game, opening up new possibilities for in-game experiences and community engagement.
Abstract’s success with projects like Pudgy Penguins, known for its large community and strong distribution network, make it an ideal partner for Onchain Heroes as they seek to attract a broad player base.
By partnering with Abstract, Onchain Heroes positions itself within the growing ecosystem of blockchain games, such as DUPER and Pengpals, which have also joined Abstract’s platform.
