Fallout: London is massive, but naturally there are some things that aren’t fully integrated into the Fallout 4 mod. For example, the team is also experimenting with making rideable horses and bikes, in addition to a full wildcard quest line that will be launched in a future update.
Yes, if you haven’t met the Sleipnir from Fallout: London — the eight-legged, post-apocalyptic horses that look as scary and silly as they sound — There was a plan for you to put a hoofbeat on one of the horses. Sadly, mutant mustangs share too much DNA with their cousins in The Elder Scrolls to be worth keeping.

Project manager Dean ‘Prilladog’ Carter spoke to VG247 about how Team FOLON sees its ideal future path and how it determines the mood of British Fallout, explaining what happens when modders try to get their Grand thing.
“We really wanted a rideable horse. We had it in there, but it was so bad and broken,” Carter recalled. “If anyone remembers what it was like in Skyrim, that was jokes about horses [being able to] Walk to the side of the mountain. The reason you can get away with it in Skyrim is because most of the time [the world] It’s pretty flat, you know, you’ll see the mountains and then that’s where it’ll show up, but there’s mounds, piles of dirt, trash and cars [it’s a lot more noticeable]”.
So, what exactly do these additional barriers do? “The horses are just jumping over everything and you’re expanding the building, like, whatever we can do [do]that’s how engines work, it doesn’t keep them grounded. At least within the time frame we want.
“I think there are people making some mods right now with drivable cars and stuff. But just like we didn’t design the map for drivable cars, it’s definitely not designed for horses that can clip things,” The modder continued, “We had ridiculous scenes happen when people did that. It was like a chase mission or something, and the guy was like flying down a mountain. So that never worked out. Ma Right there, we call them Sleipnir, but yeah, you can’t ride them.
At one point there was also a rideable bicycle, which Carter classified as “a little weird”. “Bikes have always been designed to be just a fixed component that people get on and run off down the road,” he told me. “It’s our fault because there’s so much feedback. [from people saying] “I want a bike that I can ride,” and that’s what we try to do. Situations like that, that weren’t designed for it, and then when we get this far, we realize that we’re so far away from where we want to be because it’s such a small, inconsequential thing that we actually realize We just unfortunately had to scrap it.
