If there’s one thing people on the Internet love to do, it’s tournaments and trying to decide what’s “the best.” It’s October, which means it’s time to branch out into horror movies. But instead of running a poll or posting a post for people to argue in the comments, Jordan Peele took a slightly different approach… and then people could argue in the comments.
On Friday, Peele posted a video in which he identified his favorite horror movie. Turning point? Just like a sports competition, it’s played out in a tournament where 16 films go head-to-head to end up with the top two spots. Most of these films include a range of classics from the 80s and 90s (e.g. Friday the 13th and scream), with approximately recent fares from the 2000s to now (The Babadook and it follows), the oldest of which is Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 film The birds.
