Want to keep attendees awake and engaged? Focus on energy, not on clocks. This is the theme of the Skift conference “Health Intersection” on May 29.
“Note, retention, energy and connection come from activities designed by participants,” said Samantha T. Marie, chief experience officer at Omniera Events and Travel.
Her Sepideh Eivazi is the founder of Dawn of Earth, Sepideh Eivazi, which combines somatic breathing with custom-made tea.
Create events that support continuous energy
To maintain high energy during the event, establish moments that actively attract attendees physically, mentally and emotionally.
Start with the dynamic opener to set the tone. Then change the session format to avoid fatigue. Combine presentations with interactive discussions, brief motion interruptions or moments of mindfulness.
Provides vibrant snacks and hydration stations. Also, please deliberately natural light and room layout. Even small changes such as encouraging people to stand, stretch, or take deep breaths can reset their attention and increase their focus.
The goal is not to fill every minute. This is to support the space of sustained energy throughout the day.
“From registration to meeting transition, health must be weaved into the entire experience. It should be intentional, relevant, and intentionally firm, keep the energy in mind,” Eivazi said.
Keep healthy and simple
It doesn’t have to be complicated. Rest between meetings and breaks to help attendees stay focused.
Eivazi, a member of the Global Health Institute’s respiratory program, focuses on respiratory and nervous system regulation. She is also a featured practitioner in Caesars Entertainment’s Group Wellness menu, which includes a selection of food, drinks, and activities such as guiding breathing, sound recovery and yoga.
Health can go beyond the conference room. Indoor touches such as downloadable health e-books, aromatherapy oils, soy candles and organic tea help enhance the experience. Additionally, by leaving thoughtful amenities in attendees’ rooms, they will make them aware that they work for a company that takes care of their own well-being. That will go a long way.
These touches will also help relieve the pressure on rampant society today.
In addition to prioritizing attendees, healthy planners can also incorporate them throughout the event experience, keeping energy levels in mind, which may lead to stronger results.
