If you’ve been dying to check out the Until Dawn remake, there’s good news: it finally has a release date, along with a trailer showing you its changes.
Back in May, during the PlayStation State of Play, Supermassive Games announced a remake of the 2015 horror game, even though the game was less than a decade old, but hey, that’s what the industry is like now. The game has yet to announce a release date, but earlier today PlayStation confirmed on the official PlayStation Blog that you’ll finally be able to play the game on PS5 and PC this coming October 4th. The announcement comes alongside a new trailer, which you can check out below, comparing and contrasting various scenes between the original and the remake.

The first noticeable difference is that the game’s visuals look a bit better, with the game having been rekindled and rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5. They are coupled with modern advances in character modeling and rendering,” the blog post explains.

There’s also a redesigned prologue, as the team felt it would “benefit from some tweaks to the narrative pacing. We gave the Washingtons extra screen time to explore their close family bonds and get to know them better. We also re- Some original scenes were designed and set around the infamous prank.
You may also notice that some scenes are now shot differently, some with new camera angles and some with subtle tweaks. Certain moments of the game also use a typical third-person camera, rather than fixed camera angles.
On top of that, there are some new collectibles, as well as accessibility and usability settings, but these haven’t been detailed yet.
Until Dawn Remastered will launch on PS5 and PC on October 4th.
