Plush toy maker Ty and BBC Studios recently struck a global licensing deal for a range of plush toys Bluey– Themed Beanie Baby plush toy. The partnership marks the biggest deal between BBC Studios and Ty to date.
Retailers and families can look forward to Beanie Baby versions of Bluey, Bingo, Mum (Chilli) and Dad (Bandit). The collection will launch in retail stores in the United States, Canada, Latin America, the United Kingdom and elsewhere in December. Countries such as Australia and New Zealand will receive the toys in January. The license agreement does not include Asia.
Ty joins a long list Bluey Licensing transactions. The licensing program currently includes 350 licensees worldwide, such as Moose Toys. According to Circana, Bluey ranked second among preschool toy character properties in the U.S. and ranked No. 1 among preschool toys in the UK last year.
“We are delighted that Bluey will now feature the iconic Ty red label,” said Julie Kekwick, Head of Licensing, BBC Studios UK and EMEA. “This is our largest deal with Ty to date and underscores the huge appeal of hit TV series Bluey and its heart-warming characters.”
