True Noir is the first project from the recently launched Imagination Connoisseurs Unlimited, promising an exciting experience for audiences when it hits theaters in September. The upcoming audio drama, based on Max Alan Collins’ 1983 novel True Detective, will focus on the real-life assassination of Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak in 1933, starring fictional detective Nathan Hay. Tell and investigate.
Listeners will need to use their imaginations to picture the characters in the production, but if viewers can see the actors and creatives behind the project, they’ll likely recognize most of them. According to the project’s Kickstarter campaign, the cast includes more than 25 well-known actors, including Jesse Spencer, known for his roles in “House” and “Chicago Fire”; Katee Sackhoff, known for her performances in “Doc” and “Chicago Fire.”
From this large team, the production team sent a select group to San Diego Comic-Con, led by True Noir director Robert Meyer Burnett and executive producer Mike Bowden. “True Noir” actors interviewed include “24” and “The Sopranos” actor Louis Lombardi, “Without a Trace” actor Anthony LaPaglia, “Joker: Pas de Deux” actor Bill Smitrovich, character actor Don McManus and “The John Campea Show” commentator Chris Carr.
