Little Onion is busy, busy, busy. James Tynion IV The creative studio has just announced their plans for NYCC—which includes a printed newspaper—as well as a new initiative they’re calling an “artist-in-residence program.” The first participants in the program are colorists Jody Bellaire and engraver Aditya Bidhikar, Both men are recognized masters of their craft and both are regular collaborators on The Little Onion Project. But as part of the plan, both parties will also develop their own original series to be published by Image Comics. More below:

Jordie Bellaire is an Eisner Award-winning colorist living in Portland, Oregon. Jody is best known for her color art in The Good House on the Lake, Phantom Road, The Vision, Deadly and The Little Onion w0rldtr33, as well as her guest work on The Ministry of Truth works. She is also an accomplished writer, having created series such as “Redlands” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
Aditya Bidikar is an Eisner Award-nominated Indian writer and author. Aditya’s recent lettering credits include Aquaman: Andromeda, 20th Century Man and The Little Onion titles Ministry of Truth, The Strange Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos, w0rldtr33 and Spectregraph 》.
As for the NYCC program, Tiny Onion will have a double-wide booth at NYCC and launch Tiny Onion Presents (TOP), a print newspaper covering comics for just $1 per issue. Popverse has more details:
The paper, called Tiny Onion Presents (or TOP for short), is a “celebration of paper,” as the studio describes it, combining comic strips with all-new articles featuring the latest Tiny Onion stories to date ’s retrospective, a review of the success of independent films.
“TOP has a lot of capabilities,” Tiny Onion founder James Tynion IV told Popverse. “We want people to feel the personality of the Tiny Onion team. We want people to have a fun place where they can hear about our next big move before anyone else does. We want to make something for comic conventions that feels very unique and special products. But most importantly, we make TOP to show our readers our total love for the comics medium.
This version will also include Razorblades presents Sunday Horrorfeaturing new horror comics Brian Leff, Caroline Cash, Courtney Maynard, Ezra Clayton Daniels, Jenna Cha, Josh Simmons, Mary Eng and Sam alden.
