What is a chunky penguin?
Pudgy Penguins is a collection of 8888 NFT penguins on Ethereum, minted in July 2021.
Created by four college students, Cole Villemain (@Colethereum), Clayton Patterson, Mickyj and Jonah, the series was launched so big that many people saw great potential in the project — but after mint, it started to drop.
Luca Netz acquired the chunky penguin in April 2022 with the goal of “spreading positivity and joy to as many people as possible”, starting to lay the foundation for the chunky penguin role and becoming a globally recognized brand.
Since its acquisition in 2022, Pudgy Penguins has partnered with a large number of major brands. These include Walmart, Target and Walgreens’ popular toy series, Touchmagix for arcade machines, Random House for the upcoming children’s books, and more.
As of this writing, the chunky penguin has a floor price of 9.26 ETH, which is about $25,000. Lil Pudgys is a 22,222-piece companion series on Ethereum, and the current floor price is 1.14 ETH, which is about $3,100.
