Read details from the publisher:
The mutants are a fearsome faction who constantly hunt down and fight the Thundercats. Their conflict began long before the fall of Sandra. They then also found themselves on Third Earth, and from that point on their deadly alliance with Mamra began. Their most cunning member and leader is Sly Slater, who stars in ThunderCats #10.
In the climactic episode of ThunderCats #9, the Cats face a brutal attack from mutants. This follow-up issue pauses, inverts, and flips the perspective from the beleaguered ThunderCats to the attacking mutants. The story begins in the calm before the storm, as Sliss reflects on his life in Prendal before his big battle with Sandra destroyed the lives of everyone involved.
Malvi (The Last Ride of Mount Pleasant, Pillar and Pryde) will work with Shalvey and go all out to tell this new thoughtful story about rivalry and loss. This issue is both an important entry in the ongoing story and ever-expanding lore, and the perfect one-off option for readers to try out the series and artist spotlights.
Mulvey noted:
Being able to work with a creator like Declan Shalvey on a title like ThunderCats that I’ve loved since I was a kid was a truly poignant moment for me. I’m incredibly proud to have solved this problem. Epic action, twists, and emotional moments that any comic fan will love.
Salvi added:
I’ve been a fan of Joe Mulvey’s work for a long time and I thought this issue was the perfect opportunity to work with him. It’s really exciting to focus an issue’s narrative on Slater and have an artist as great as Joe showcase him. Joe’s page is awesome and I can’t wait for the ThunderCats audience to see it.
