thomas jane Played Frank Castle in the 2004 version punishera role in which he excelled. I’ve always thought Jane was perfect for playing this ultra-violent vigilante, and it’s a shame he never got the chance to play the role again.
There were rumors that he might play the Punisher in Deadpool vs. Wolverine , but that didn’t happen and, as it turns out, he was never even approached.
When asked about this in an interview with The Direct, he said he had never been contacted about a potential return.
Jane also shared his thoughts Joe BernthalFrank Castle’s version, in Daredevil series and return Daredevil Reborn.
Jane said: “I like [Jon] Bernthal’s Punisher. I think, you know, that was always a little bit of a stretch for me. Frank Castle is supposed to be Italian-American. I’m not. I’m Irish American.
“So for me, I had to dye my hair and create a character, but Bernthal wore it so well that I thought they should stick with him.”
I do think Bernthal fits the role of Frank Castle like a glove. The casting was perfect, but I still loved Jane’s approach to the character.
While Jane acknowledges that the Punisher’s era is coming, he’s interested in taking on the villain played by Bernthal’s Frank Castle. When brought up, he said, “Hey, that’s not bad. I like that.”
