Everyone sits down and gets ready. We finally have a release date for Monster Hunter Wilds! Capcom’s latest big game is coming February 28, 2025.
This information comes from the just-concluded Sony State of Play live broadcast. We now have a good look at what’s in store for Wilds, via a slick new trailer that incorporates new gameplay peaks and a narrative tease of what we can expect next year. You can watch the trailer for yourself below!
Starting with the gameplay, we’re shown some new monsters that make for good hunting, fishing, teamwork by throwing explosive barrels, and some neat environmental interactions as the game pulls off the cliffs atop monsters. It all looks fantastic, continuing the trend of previous game trailers.
When it comes to the cinematic aspects of the trailer, things get interesting. We get a glimpse of what appears to be the main enemy monster, the White Ghost, although it’s largely obscured by shadow. Some characters seem determined to destroy this particular monster, so we’re presented with what looks like a major narrative thread here. Interesting stuff.
