I am a huge advocate for sexual health. Everyone deserves to have a healthy, happy sex life if they want to. But this can be a difficult area for some men. According to estimates from the National Institutes of Health, “at least 30 to 50 million men in the United States and at least 150 million men worldwide suffer from ED.” While the condition tends to occur in men aged 40-70, cases are also increasing in men under 40. Journal of Sexual Medicine, It states that 26% of young men suffer from ED. Another study in the journal Translational Andrology and Urology dug deeper, “8% of men ages 20 to 29 and 11% of men ages 30 to 39 have had…[ing] An emergency room of some sort.
Typically, the world would shrug and say, take a “little blue pill” and go on their way. But what about men who, for whatever reason, want a non-toxic solution? For them, the solution may be Vertica. Created by Ohh-Med Medical Ltd., which specializes in men’s health solutions, Vertica is a home device designed to stimulate the tunica albuginea tissue responsible for maintaining erections. Vertica strengthens and strengthens the collagen-rich skin membrane, which helps maintain blood flow for erections. Think of it as one of those red light collagen masks, but for your vaginal area.
Like those masks, the Vertica doesn’t come cheap. The device itself will cost $1,333 (£1,020) or $1,667 (£1,275) to pre-order. But if you pre-order Vertica Plus with app compatibility, the price is $1,667 (£1,275). If you don’t book, you’ll pay $1,961.
To use the Vertica, you insert your penis through the hole while holding the device on your crotch. There is an additional section surrounding it to connect with the perineum. Once you’re comfortable using the device, you press a button to generate gentle heat waves through radiofrequency energy, which the company says will help strengthen collagen. Vertica treats the visible part of the penis as well as the internal part that requires a perineal attachment.
Ohh-Med says that in addition to helping to strengthen collagen, the device also aids in vascular regeneration and vasodilation, which is essentially the widening of blood vessels. This means more blood and oxygen will get to the organs, which is the desired effect. Ohh-Med told Gizmodo that some men reported correcting abnormal curvatures while using the product. To date, Ohh-Med reports an 80% success rate for ED.
First, Ohh-Med recommends using Vertica for 15 minutes three times a week for the first month. From then on, you can use it twice a week to maintain results. Although Vertica has received European CE MDR (Medical Device Regulation) certification, it has not yet received FDA approval. However, it is currently undergoing trials in the United States and hopes to receive FDA approval sometime in 2025.
