Netflix has dropped a new clip from its upcoming animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the Abyss , but unfortunately it’s indeed experiencing a delay.
It’s Netflix Geek Week, and there are plenty of updates for your favorite series and movies on the streamer, and yesterday was no exception, with the release of the official clip for The Witcher: Sirens of the Abyss. We’ll see the clip soon, but right away there’s some good news and bad news. The good news is that the animated movie based on the classic book series finally has a release date! The bad news is, it’s February 11, 2025 – the movie was originally expected to be released sometime in 2024, but unfortunately, the latest footage confirms it’s been pushed back a bit. Anyway, we’re very close to the end of 2024, so that’s not a surprise, but I’m sure you can wait another five months, right?

The clip itself is very simple, opening with the video game voice of Geralt of Rivia himself, with Doug Cockle introducing the new clip, saying: “Soon, Geralt will be back fighting, not just against humans and monsters alike. Battle, and…Merman! He shared the new release date ahead of the full clip, showing Geralt and Jaskier eating around a campfire, and it’s clear the beloved bard is as passionate as ever. The emotionally retarded witcher concluded.

Fans of the live-action Witcher series will also be happy to see Joey Beatty reprise his role as Jaskier in the animated film, so the voice cast mixes the world’s styles.
It’s also a good thing that the movie is coming out soon, as CD Projekt Red is just getting ready to put The Witcher 4 into full production, so don’t expect a new game to appear for at least the next few years.
