This is a wonderful and heartwarming story Pat Morita got help early in his life and career red foxand how Morita accepted this generosity and conveyed it to Robin Williams.
In this short clip from This Day in History’s Nick Ragone, we learn that when Morita was a struggling comedian, he met Redd Foxx. Redd Foxx) and became good friends with him.
To help Morita’s career, Fox gave him a role sanford and sons Another time, Morita wanted to buy a house but didn’t have a down payment. So Foxx gave him $3,500 to help and told Morita he couldn’t repay the money and would have to keep paying it back.
Years later, Morita watched a young Robin Williams perform in San Francisco and joked about his financial situation. After the show, Morita gave him $3,500 to help and told Williams to turn the money over, which Williams did.
