The Toys and Games International Awards for Excellence (TAGIE), presented by People of Play, will air on January 18 in a one-hour special on CBS. TAGIE celebrates and honors the inventors, designers and innovators behind the world’s most popular toys and games. The awards ceremony was held on November 8 in Chicago.
“Today’s consumers want to feel connected to the products they buy,” said Mary Couzin, senior vice president of the Toy Association and founder of People of Play. “The people behind our popular toys are equally fascinating, making this special approach a powerful way to engage audiences of all ages.”
The award will serve as Toys in our lives series that highlights the people behind popular and beloved toys. The TAGIES Awards celebrated winners in nine categories and three Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, including Mary Denby, Dan Romanelli and Ellen Dorfman. Moderated by Karri Bean, Senior Manager, LEGO, Disney Consumer Products
The TAGIE ceremony will be broadcast in major U.S. markets, including New York, Boston, Detroit, Dallas/Fort Worth, Atlanta, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Sacramento, Tampa Bay, and more.
