In today’s rapidly changing comics industry, there are two universal truths. First of all, February is coming to an end. The second is that more people are reading romantic comics and web images (also known as vertical scroll comics). So we continue the weird romance of beats at Comics Beat. Every week, we have three writers recommending some of our favorite comics from Japan, Korea and elsewhere. This week we have occasional high school students, horny college students, and of course, lamma.
Fall in love, you fake angel

When we sit in front of the mirror, we think the way we stare back at our image is shaped by external factors. Coupled with what others think of us, all kinds of connections and complications in our relationships arise. For Otogi Katsura, her appearance and the characters she created around it could be a blessing and a curse. She is pretty, she knows. She realized that others were wearing her pedestal. She made up her beautiful face and huge locks with her cute bangs, fluttering in the wind, and she stole her heart left and right.
She performed well to fit her angelic image, but in reality, she was ironic and calculated. She was particularly cautious about her other half of the first-year presidential duo Toki. Obviously, he can never be on the same level as Otogi, but he is not a good gene either. Too bad, one day Otogi accidentally slipped in front of Toki, who revealed his hidden card. Will these fallen angels finally see their eyes? Or will they clumsily save everything left of their character and protect the status quo?
Cocoa zauciThe introduction to English fans is hotei hot first kisslicensed by seven Ocean Entertainment companies. Her new series Fall in love, your fallen angel It was my first time reading their works. Volume 1 was released on February 11th, just before Valentine’s Day.
The perfect protagonist, hiding deep personality flaws, is as old as time. Hor insect,,,,, Maid!,,,,, Comey can’t communicateand kaguya-sama: Love is war Think about it as an example of gaining widespread popularity. When someone sees you in your worst situation and the best moments, it’s undeniable. Better yet, they saw your version, but still accepted you.
This is more or less Fall in love, you fake angel. Before all the Butts, I have to say that I was having fun reading the first volume. The art style is beautiful. I’m particularly grateful Lys BlakesleeTheir fonts and some fonts used in the volume. It is a beautiful work inside and outside.
But here it comes. If there is a bigger difference between Toki and Otogi, I would like this series more. Coco Uzuki emphasizes it by switching between their beautiful faces and choosing whimsical expressions for Otogi while cooling down Toki. While I won’t say it’s a complete failure, they seem to be just people who smile and be kind to others in a social environment. Other reviewers I met read further on K-Manga, and the series became even more interesting in volume 2. This is very exciting! However, if you are looking to read the introductory volume of the Romantic Series, it is still a good choice. Plus, it is available both digitally and in printing. Quote the great Siskel and Ebert, two thumbs up. – Merve Giray
Dance until tomorrow
Writer/Artist: Yamamoto Naoki
English adaptation: Rachel Thorn
Lettering and retouching art: and Nak disease
Publisher: Right now
Yamamoto Naoki He is a very interesting comic artist. Much of his career consists of sexual comics that put women in extreme situations. But while Yamamoto obviously likes his work, occasionally he spreads and tells a bigger story in the medium of his choice. For example, believera desolate story, about three worshippers on the island; Arigatoone of the workaholic fathers must repair his deeply broken family; and Reddepicting the 1960s student protest movement in Japan. Yamamoto also oversees the magazine Comics Magazine F, which published like Usamaru Furuya ((Lychee Light Club) and live ((Utsubora) push boundaries in your own way.
Dance until tomorrowa comic series drawn by Yamamoto in English, although not particularly interested in breaking boundaries. This is a normal sex comedy about an average college student named Suekichi who goes back to a huge succession. Now, a girl named Aya is following him. She was pretty in bed, great, but who did she love him or just want his money? Where is Mijoki, another woman with her own secret?
Fundamentally, this comic is simple adolescent male desire to fulfill and make beautiful girls fall in love with you. However, execution is trickier than this. First, Suekichi and Aya wake up without knowing who they are or how she got there. They had only three chapters to have sex. Even after Suekichi had been with Aya, he still didn’t know if he could trust her. When I first read Dance until tomorrow Once everything is solved, I am used to the current status of popular comics for romantic partners (if they do). Yamamoto’s idea is that sex is just another thing when adults feel it, not an awkward orgasm of the romantic arc, which is huge for me.
You can certainly read Aya as a misogynistic fantasy, who seduces Suekichi so that she can abscond with his money. Frankly speaking, Aya escaped Dance until tomorrow. She is such a funny character: more sincere than you expected, but super curved. She has more in common with Suekichi’s uninterrupted strategy and live fashion dramas (e.g. the 1991s Tokyo’s love story) More than other comics I have read from this period.
I don’t know if Dance until tomorrow It’s a great comic, even the best place in Yamamoto. I do know that this is much better than you (apparently) shamelessly trying to pursue a trend. Even though it’s out of print for a while, I’d love to see it again – or maybe there are other books in the Yamamoto directory. Maybe not ArigatoHowever, I’m not sure if we’re ready. – Adam Westcott

Lanma ½
Writer/Artist: Lumiko Takahashi
English adaptation: Gerard Jones, Rachel Thorn
Modification Art/Lettering: Deron Bennett
Designer: Yukiko Whitley

writing Lanma ½ For such a column it almost seems redundant. For older generation comic fans, classic comics Lumiko Takahashi It is the cornerstone of their introduction to Japanese comics. Viz Media published the series (and was the American home of every Takahashi manga that followed). But with the new series on Netflix and people in just one bookstore, the series is called “retro” by young people, so remember why classics are still classics.
The premise is very simple. After Ranma Saotome fell into a curse spring on a trip to China, he became a young woman whenever he was hit by cold water. This really became a problem when he and his father returned to Japan to fulfill their promise. A few years ago, Ranma’s father Gendo is now a giant panda, and Soun Tendo (who runs any martial arts school) arranges Ranma to marry one of three Tendo’s daughters. It decides that the smallest, Bucks’ Arcahn, will marry our hero/devil, as in any classic romantic comedy, neither can stand it. What follows is.
If there was ever a series where the term “the weirdness that follows” actually applies, it is Lanma ½. Only with Dragon Pearlthe series is the final action comedy series. The action sequence laughed loudly. Takahashi turns everyday objects and professions into martial arts absurdity. If you think the rhythmic gymnastics battles in anime are fun, wait until you read the performance in the comics. But where akira toriyama Finally let us Dragon PearlThe comedy element of Gogahash dropped, making the absurd attitude higher and higher.
The series has a deep supporting character bench. Ranma and Akane’s rivals and romantic followers are only Zanier who can be Zanier, especially when they can’t say that Ranma’s male and female characters are the same person. At its core, though, is their will/will not/will not be in tension between Lamma and Arcain, who is one of the greatest couples in the comics. Their romance in the series is a fun. They do have feelings for each other. If they can transcend their own self to admit this. But, if you can, it wouldn’t be one of the great romantic comedies. – D. Morris
