It seems that DC’s history written in the movie is not enough, and now DC Comics has finally obtained the history book it deserves. DC Comics: The Story of the Universe go through Sean Howe and Sam Tillman As announced in one of the Books Deal columns, it was just signed and published by Thielman. (This news was a week old, but no one else posted it, so you went.)
I can’t imagine there are two qualified people!
Howe is the author of Marvel Comics: The Untold Story, an impeccable research and exciting story about Marvel’s behind the scenes. Thielman is currently a graphic novel critic for The Ny Times, but has written about comics for The Guardian, The New Yorker and elsewhere. It’s enough to say that these two gentlemen have the knowledge to write this story, and I can’t wait to read it!
The book will be published by Harper One, with a publication date of 2027. Rakesh Satyal is the editor of Stuart Krichevsky Agency, and David Patterson contributed to the deal.
And what materials they have. On top of my head:
etc. It’s indeed a rich story. Sam and Sean, you have a tough task, but you get it. I only have one request: Give Dorothy Woolfolk what she deserves!
