Saturday’sStarCraft The “Universe” panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con was packed with cast, crew and, most importantly, announcements that inspired the entire audience.
strange new world
strange new world The first to get up. Next season, Scotty (Martin Quinn) will be a regular, and Dr. Roger Kirby will also make an appearance. This has to do with the show host Akiva Goldsman Leave a comment on 2023 Interviews type: “We’re always doing what we do best, which is the many relationship stories in Secret Space.” Roger Korby is Christine Chapel Nurse’s (Jesse Bush) future fiancé.
That’s an interesting description of the show because there’s a lot of romance brewing here and there, but I do wonder if all the romances shown will continue to be straight, or if we’ll get some queer characters in the mix. and Discover end and lower deck After being cancelled, we suddenly had a lack of queer representation.
Let’s quickly look ahead to the future strange new world Episodes, in which Pike (Mount Anson), Uhura (celia rose gooding), Laan (Christina Zhuang), the chapel and Pelia (Carol Kane) were injected with a serum designed to transform them into Vulcans. To Perlia’s dismay, it worked on four of the five people, while Spock (Ethan Peck) must go on a mission with four (temporarily) intact Vulcans, as he constantly reminds himself that he is only half-Vulcan.
It’s played for laughs, but I do wish we had some time to focus on how this wears down Spock and bothers him, considering the initial attempts to turn them back into humans failed, and for some It’s like they’re stuck in time like this.
During the panel, Goldsman said one of the things that keeps “Strange New Worlds” fresh is the freedom he has to experiment with new genres and see what roles actors can take on. So far, they’ve successfully tackled every challenge, including the now-famous musical and the upcoming Hollywood murder mystery. In fact, the musical is going so well that the group teased a possible staging StarCraft music.
Peck and Rebecca Romijn (Una Chin-Riley/Number One) attended the panel, but neither had many questions to answer. Romijn did say that we’re going to have a lot of No. 1s as captains in Season 3.
lower deck
Next is lower deck, ushered in a trailer that showed off some highlights from the past four seasons and another that teased some of what’s to come. The latter (pictured below) revealed that Season 5 will launch on October 24th.
Join as Executive Producer Alex Kurtzman Series creators on the panel Mike McMahan and cast and crew Tawny Newsome (Beckett Marriner), Jack Quaid (Bradward Boimler), noel wells (Dewana Tandy), and Jerry O’Connell (Commander Jack Ransom).
The entire cast seems to agree that season five is a time of collective growth for their characters and the only way to save them Lower deck—If it can be saved – it’s through fan activity. (Season five is the series finale.) child prodigy After all, a second season is finally seeing the light of day, so there’s always a chance.
Amid their jokes and friendship, McMahan and Kurtzman said something they repeated many times: StarCraft It doesn’t hit down, which is why Lower Decks are always fun.
Unfortunately, this is not accurate. Star Wars: Lower Decks Already punched down. It’s just for people with disabilities. Season 2 focuses on the Pakled race, and the whole “joke” is the existence of intellectual disabilities, despite how the Pakled got into space on their own. There are other issues with disability representation in Season 2 in particular, but now is not the time to revisit them.
starfleet academy
Thanks to previous questions from viewers, we learned about the upcoming series starfleet academy There will be a deaf character and a character who uses a wheelchair. This is StarCraft The series is not about being a hero who saves and explores the stars. taking into account the attitude shown in strange new world As for the disabilities – from Pike acting like it would end his career, or even his life, to Homer saying that a blind person couldn’t survive in Starfleet – this news feels less exciting than it should.
We need more disabled characters and stories about people with disabilities. But in a series about traveling to the stars and exploring strange new worlds and new civilizations, disabled people should be there doing all of those things, too.
When asked if there are any writers with disabilities starfleet academy writing room, writer Tawny Newsome The reply was, “I can’t say because not all disabilities are visible.” That in itself says a lot – no one in the room had a very visible disability, but the creator was writing a deaf character and a wheelchair user. This again points to a comic story about us.
However, some announcements involve starfleet academy Encouraging. i.e. Kurtzman and Co-Executive Producer/Showrunner Nogaland Road declare Teague Notaro, Mary Wiseman, Odd Fairand Robert Picardo Has been added to the cast.
The panel also shared a particularly heartwarming video of the young actors hearing for the first time that they’d landed their roles (pictured above). There’s definitely heart and potential there. I’m just a little worried due to modern trekPoor history of disability representation, especially when Newsom and Franchise strange new world Jonathan Frakes In the past, people have dismissed the important historical context of Parker’s mobile devices.
Article 31
our first trailer Article 31introduced by Star Video Michelle Yeohpresents a very action-oriented production that gives us a glimpse into the makings of Queen Georgiou.
The film, which doesn’t yet have a release date, looks to be an exploration of her character and the Terran Empire rather than a story about spy shenanigans, which in my opinion is a very good thing. The eponymous “Part 31” can’t be the good guys in Utopia because they are the secret police. But if I’m reading the trailer correctly, it could be a fascinating ride delving into how twisted people in the Twisted Empire twist others.
Those who joined the group in person include Omari Hardwick, Sam Richardson, Olatunde Osusunmiand Kathy Rohr. It has been revealed that Rohr will play Rachel Garrett, a character in an unforgettable film. StarCraft: The Next Generation Episode “Yesterday’s Enterprise”. Richardson will play Chameleon, who we’ve only seen once before in the film. StarCraft IV.
Article 31 You will see the messy side StarCraft After all the development Georgiou has gone through, she is “reincarnated” for the third time. The stunt work looks fantastic. It’s great to see Michelle Yeoh getting back to her acting roots while still in the midst of her career StarCraft.
The future seems pretty bright StarCraft Even with the recent cancellation of events for fans. There’s more to come and maybe, just maybe, we can find a way to sustain lower deck We will go if we muster.
