Clear the way and make room because the Serpent Queen is coming and she’s not happy!

If there’s one thing anyone who’s watched the series can say, it’s that the show isn’t afraid of the capriciousness of its characters.

The Snake Queen displays a unique talent for preventing the pace from slipping or the story from becoming stale.

Even though the characters are more or less dealing with the same problems they’ve had since the start of season two, the show manages to keep things fresh.

The Snake Queen’s story penetrates the hearts and minds of fans, completely captivating them with its powerful cast and impressive costumes.

The Snake Queen is always dressed up for another funeral, while Elizabeth serves the Queen of Hearts

We absolutely need to discuss the Snake Queen’s costume and look.

Whoever was responsible for designing the costumes for these characters should win an Oscar because the costumes on this show are a masterclass in talent.

It may be a little late to point this out, but Catherine does only wear black. This woman always looks like she’s on her way to a funeral. See what I did there? Too soon?

Then there’s Queen Elizabeth (Minnie Driver), who is portrayed as the antithesis of Catherine. The Snake Queen favors black suits, and Elizabeth looks like the Queen of Hearts.

She is always full of artificiality, which perfectly matches her extreme and slightly crazy personality.

While audiences may not always remember what a character says, if the costume creates a big enough buzz, they may remember it.

These women aren’t the only ones getting this gorgeous treatment, as Françoise’s hair hasn’t moved an inch since the first episode of Season 2 of “The Serpent Queen.”

That’s quite a feat considering he’s been in jail, and I wonder if he’s gotten any more products to keep that gorgeous hair styled so strategically.

We can understand why Princess Margot was so fascinated by the handsome Duke.

Catherine’s children could not rest to save their own lives. Literally.

No matter how attractive Françoise is, it doesn’t explain why the princess seems a little unhinged or very innocent.

Seriously, there’s something dazzling about this girl. It’s not like she just met the Duke yesterday. Why is she acting like a giggling schoolgirl?

Additionally, she acts weird and hostile every time the prospect of Charles comes up.

We already know that Charles (Bill Milner) has unnatural feelings for his sister. Margot might reciprocate those feelings a little. But I hope not, because that would be disgusting.

Someone needed to tell her that the king was not in this world long so they could kiss and say goodbye.

Then there is Anjou. I think God might have been a little drunk when he created Anjou. This man is not a man at all. He is a boy playing an adult role.

He had no self-control and would giggle like a pathetic, grouchy child when called upon.

Believe it or not, I actually like Anjou. He’s a fun character who keeps things interesting.

However, orgies and drunken debauchery will be a thing of the past. It’s nice to see him taking control of his life and taking responsibility for his actions.

Princess Elizabeth would have been better off staying in Rome with her sickly, sadistic husband.

Regardless, Catherine’s family is in danger. Members keep dropping like flies one way or another.

Lack of loyalty means no love lost in the blood of family traitors

Raise your hands if you don’t trust Alessandro. That’s what I think.

Granted, in a show like “Snake Queen,” few characters can be trusted. It’s hard not to roll your eyes at the thought of having a long-lost brother.

Still, like Catherine (Samantha Morton), we’re hoping for some real siblings. Alas, the Snake Queen is relearning her rules of trusting no one.

However, Alessandro and Rahima’s arcs felt forced.

They had barely a few scenes together, but that’s what it takes to start a relationship.

Alessandro and Rahima seem to be minor characters in terms of everything else that happens in the series.

It’s like the writers needed a way to turn everyone against Catherine.

That said, I’m totally willing to ignore the forced plot, because everything else in “Snake Queen” is amazing. Besides, Catherine had bigger fish to fry.

Come hell or high water, the Snake Queen won’t surrender without a fight.

Edith embraced her villainous role with the support of heavily armed followers.

From the Bourbons to the cardinals, Edith continued to chip away at Catherine’s support left and right.

We’ve begun to see the true nature of the False Prophet, but it’s the Snake Queen that viewers need to pay close attention to.

Whatever that cunning woman has planned, it’s likely to remind everyone that she’s the boss in charge.

It’s important to point out that the real evil in season two isn’t the Bourbons, the Guises, Queen Elizabeth, or even Edith. The real villain of this story is religion.

As one of my favorite lines from Derry Girls goes, “You’re not different religions. You’re just different flavors of the same religion.”

It was ridiculous that the church had so much power back then. As one of the Vatican lackeys mentioned in the episode, the church can do whatever it wants.

Catherine’s plan could lead to a major power shift in France and across Europe.

Either way, The Serpent Season 2 finale is going to be an epic one and a great end to an amazing season.

There are many things that could happen, but I have one request. Hopefully Queen Elizabeth will make another appearance.

I just had to hear her snarky quips and elegantly dark comments again.

The second season of The Serpent Queen delivers one amazing episode after another, never letting the plot or pacing suffer.

Hopefully future historical retellings will take a cue from this Starz series, especially since it has a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

Grab some armor, because next episode is the main event. Please pray that we can at least “cut off their heads” from Catherine.

Who do you think will eventually rule France?

What plans might Catherine have for Edith?
