There you have it, folks: Sony finally announced the rumored PS5 Pro, but you won’t like the price.
During today’s PS5 tech demo, PlayStation confirmed what we all already knew, that the PS5 Pro is coming soon. Years of rumors, as well as some teases from PlayStation itself, have made it clear that this will happen at some point, but PS5 architect Mark Cerny has given us an in-depth look at the enhanced version of the current-gen PlayStation console, and exactly how it compares to its predecessor What’s the difference.
Much like the PS4 Pro before it, the PS5 Pro brings many improvements. The PS5 Pro has a larger GPU, ray tracing improvements, and an AI upgrade called PSSR to help handle the graphics load. The idea behind these major additions is that you should be able to achieve higher table frame rates without sacrificing visual fidelity. Cerny conducted multiple comparisons of the performance and fidelity modes of PS5 and PS5 Pro to show the differences, with games looking better and smoother.
