According to Deadline , a prominent business magazine with actual inside sources, Lucasfilm is at it again…Kathleen Kennedy has hired Simon Kinberg to produce three new Star Wars movies, according to Deadline’s sources song, he will be the sole writer and producer (along with Kennedy). According to this article, there is some controversy over whether Kinberg will write Episode X-12 of the Skywalker Saga or produce an entirely new trilogy. Deadline’s sources tell them that this is actually episodes X-XII.
Now, Lucasfilm itself hasn’t announced anything, and Kennedy hasn’t taken to a stage to talk about this new project. But when they publish these things on their front page, you can usually trust Deadline to be right.
Kinberg has worked on “Star Wars” before, he was a co-creator and writer on “Rebels”, he was also a writer on the horror film “Dark Phoenix X-Men” and he was a writer on the 2015 “Fantastic Four” movie screenwriter. So I can only say that my confidence in Kinberg is not particularly high. Even other productions like RDJ’s Sherlock Holmes movies have had a much better response.
But since this is Lucasfilm, let’s just laugh and wait for the inevitable reports from the Hollywood industry that Kinberg won’t be filming another trilogy. He’ll soon be joining the likes of Rian Johnson, Benioff & Weiss, Taika Waititi, Leslye Headland, Colin Trevorrow, Damon Lindelof, Steven Knight, Patty Jenkins and more in the clubhouse!
Why is Kathleen Kennedy still running Lucasfilm, plotting nonsense?
