yesterday, PlayStation 5 Pro roll out. But I’ve been playing Sony’s most expensive console ever for the past week, and my biggest problem with it, besides its high price, is that it’s hard to really figure out which games run and look better on it.
this PlayStation 5 Pro Not a console you’re likely to need to buy. However, if you have a really good 4K TV and you care about frame rates and ray tracing, it’s an impressive machine that can provide a truly fantastic upgrade for games such as spider man 2 and no man’s sky. But it’s hard to actually find which games in your library or store are PS5 Pro enhanced unless you look for a list online.
when i start PS5 Prothe first thing I did was jump into my game library to see which games I already owned supported Sony’s powerful new console. It’s not easy. Currently, there are no symbols or text on the game’s tiles or cover to indicate whether it’s been enhanced for PS5 Pro. Even when I clicked on the game and opened the submenu, there was still no indication whether it would take advantage of the new features.
Currently, the only way to solve this problem is to In addition to checking out our listings or the Sony websitejust look at the PSN Store. You can do this directly in the store or through the “Show Products” option in your game library. There you’ll see a PS5 Pro Enhanced Edition badge, letting you know that, yes, the game looks and runs better on your new expensive machine.
Sony borrowed this idea from the Xbox Series X
At first, when I got my hands on the PS5 Pro last week, I thought Sony had a plan to make it easier to find Pro-enhanced games when using the console and its store. So I waited until the PS5 Pro was released on November 7th… and nothing. I still can’t tell at a glance which ones are enhanced and which are not.
Sony has added a PS5 Pro Enhanced Edition section to the store, but as far as I can tell, it doesn’t show all the actual enhanced games. Over the course of about a day, it showed zombie siege 2a PS4 game with no enhancements at all. (has since been removed and replaced with Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered Editionr, among which yes Enhance.
Thankfully, there’s now a PS5 Pro enhancement filter that can be applied to the store, which helps a lot. However, this filter cannot be applied to your own game library, which seems silly!
As someone who plays a lot of Xbox Series X, I really appreciate Microsoft’s use of icons to quickly indicate which games are native Series X/S games and which aren’t. I hope Sony considers adding some indicators or icons for games that run better on PS5 Pro so it’s easier for people to truly take advantage of the most powerful PlayStation console ever.
