It’s the finale of Mayor Kingston’s third season, and things are crazier than ever. Mike begins and ends the episode with emotional dialogue, acknowledging his crimes and how prison has changed him.
In this recap of The Mayor of Kingston Season 3 Episode 10, we have a lot of trauma to unpack if we want closure. Especially since we haven’t heard anything about season 4 yet. This ending may be the whole story.
Be sure to tell us in the comments how you think the third season of the series compares to the first two seasons. Do you think this ending is satisfying enough?
Things do end quite messily, with an unexpected death and a test of loyalty. I hope Mike can find temporary happiness with Evelyn. But that’s unlikely to happen after she arrests Kyle.
How messy is it that the only good brother is going to jail?
All season long I’ve been rooting for Ian and Robert to see the other side of the justice system. Just when we thought Evelyn would be hunting Ian for the death of a CI, she turns her sights on Kyle.

But at least Evelyn discovered Ian’s corruption. I’m still holding out hope for next season so we can get some justice for the death of serial killer Charlie (Kenny Johnson).
Yes, I sympathize with serial killers. hate me. We all have our own things.
But Evelyn also knows what a narcissistic psychopath Robert is, and she seems to want him more than Ian does.
So, can Mike use this to Kyle’s advantage? Facts – Kyle did something illegal. He shot his brother. And, in fact──he’s a hero.
Because Robert was crazy, he was bound to shoot the frightened innocent, maybe even his child.
We fully expect to see some of the emotional scars left by this necessity. Will Robert try to get revenge now that we know he survived?
There are a lot of deaths throughout the episode that distract us from Kyle’s survival. The battle on the bridge wiped out most members of the Rabbit Crypt Gang and many Russians.
But does it matter that all their leaders went to hell? We saw the return of Milo in The Mayor of Kingston Season 3 Episode 9.
Things don’t go well for him, exposing Milo’s deep, sadistic, evil nature worthy of Criminal Minds. I would love to read his BAU profile.
The sickening factor is the perfect farewell note for a series about to begin just as we start to get feverish. Is anyone else ready for all the horror?

Speaking of gory content, there is a clear trend towards more graphic and mature content in streaming series. This makes the audience question the psychology of different generations.
We no longer get the thrill of watching a traumatized, drugged-up woman blow the back of her kidnapper’s head off. For we can make the case that death was a way for her to win her freedom and her favor to humanity. She killed a bad guy, a bad guy.
It’s a bit frustrating that despite all of Mac’s efforts and crimes to save Iris, she was so exhausted on the bus out of town that she took drugs.
Will Mike discover her fate? He tells her to leave and never look back. Forget him and all of Kingston.
How ironic that the pills she used to end her life originally belonged to Mac’s late mother, who also tried to help Iris before she died.
If the brain-explosion of Constantine’s death didn’t shock you, you probably cheered when Mike beat Tyson to Milo after Ian and Iris took off.
Another bad guy’s death brings justice. But his death also hits a delicate line that Mike discusses throughout the episode.
Like Kyle, he has good reasons for doing bad things. Although that doesn’t make as much sense as Kyle shooting his brother. But Mike kills the evil Milo with a vengeance, bringing us peace that he wouldn’t have if he went to jail.
The justice system is too messed up to leave his fate to a flawed court system. If he has any useful information, he can trade it for his freedom. His death was the only peaceful way to end it.

Especially after Mike promised to shoot him. I love it when a man keeps his word. But seeing him shoot Milo after mentioning Mac’s mom does explain why we see blood on his shirt.
Surprisingly, Evelyn didn’t ask about it when they talked after Kyle was arrested. It seems that the fate of those closest to Mike is not good.
How bad would it be if there was a season 4 if Mike was the only one who didn’t go to jail? The ex-con was released while three former police officers were jailed.
With the battle on the bridge and the deaths of Milo, Constantine, and Roman, we probably won’t see any more conflict between the Russians and the Crypt.
But we haven’t made a decision yet on the Bunny storyline. He and Mike were both out, but Mike betrayed him by pretending to be on good terms with him to appease the Aryans in the prison.
Mike suppressed the Russian threat, which was in cahoots with the Aryans. Does this mean they will back off? Or will they continue attacking Bunny’s business under new leadership?
We know that rabbits steal a lot of guns. So even though he lost some soldiers, he was still armed and ready for war. He was smart and sent an empty truck onto the bridge. Police were unable to bring any charges against him.
We’ll have to wait and see what’s next from Washington. With Karim out of jail and the mole still present, the time is ripe to take control of the prison.
Can Mike reinstate Kingston as mayor and take control of everyone? Or will he, like his mayor predecessor, step down in disgrace?

If all his brothers were in prison (or all dead, since anyone actually believed Robert could survive prison), what would he have left? His relationship with Evelyn has broken down, and Iris is dead.
His boring alliance with Karim also ends when the warden commits suicide by a prisoner. How will Mike react when he learns of Karim’s death? He sensed something was going on but didn’t pursue it.
After Karim’s death, who will be the next warden? If it’s Mike’s post player, this works in his favor. But it would be a smarter move for prisons to recruit from the outside.
After all the losses this season, Mack can claim a win in his category. Especially if there was someone willing to work with him instead of causing him problems like his brother did.
Is anyone else annoyed that Ian and Robert constantly want Mike to fix their mistakes? We expect this kind of behavior from the unstable Robert, especially after he and Kyle clashed last episode.
But Ian, who recently murdered Charlie to cover his own ass, is stepping into Robert’s crazy territory.
The mayor of Kingston left me with some unresolved feelings and a pessimistic optimism about the potential future of its residents.
It would be to my advantage if the show ended like this. Now, I can imagine my own future for these characters. If the show got another season, it might look different.
But if Reyna and his jaded family come back for another round, I’d happily revisit Kingston for more drama and illicit justice-clash fun.
What about you, readers? What psychological impression did the finale of Season 3 leave on you? Are you hoping to get answers next season? What do you want them to do next?
