Amazon is once again selling a beautiful illustrated edition of The Lord of the Rings for $26 ahead of Prime Day. You have to click on the coupon box on the listing to get the full discount, and there’s really no telling when the extra discount will disappear. Amazon has removed the coupon from the deal on at least two separate occasions since it launched earlier this week alongside the B2G1 free sale. It’s not eligible for Amazon’s B2G1 free offer, but it’s part of a Target sale (although Target sells it for $39). You should also check out this incredible deal on the recently released (gorgeous) History of Middle-earth hardcover set.

The Lord of the Rings: Illustrated Edition
The Lord of the Rings: Illustrated Edition

What makes this book so special is that it is designed to look and feel like a high-quality print of the Lord of the Rings saga. It features beautiful illustrations by JRR Tolkien, text printed in two colors, with spray-painted edges, and a ribbon bookmark to the hardcover edition. There’s also a special edition available, but it’s more expensive at $94. Still, that’s a lot better than the usual $250 price.

In total, there are 30 color illustrations, maps, and sketches that Tolkien made while constructing this ambitious fantasy adventure story, which is accompanied by pages from the chapters of The Book of Mazabul and The Bridge of Khazadum. There are also two removable folding maps drawn by Christopher Tolkien that reveal all the details of Middle-earth.

Silmarillion Illustrations Only $32 (if you check the coupon box) and The Hobbit Illustrated Edition sells for $40 (This is part of B2G1’s free sales). Other B2G1 free Tolkien books on Amazon include: The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit four-book paperback for $21; a faux leather bound set for $35; A History of Middle-earth 》Volume 1-5, priced at $28, etc.

It’s not B2G1 free, but Gorgeous New History of Middle-earth Hardcover Box Set Amazon has it on sale for just $59 (originally $125). Released in February this year, the box set contains the first four volumes of the History of Middle-earth book series written by Tolkien and his son Christopher. It’s titled The Silmarillion , so you might want to check out this great deal before buying the illustrated edition.

If you’d rather watch the epic battles of Middle-earth than read about them, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is available on 4K Blu-ray (featuring extended and theatrical cuts of the three films) for $73. Eligible for buy 2 get 1 free. If you’re not sure which Blu-rays to pair it with to take advantage of the B2G1 free offer, we’ve got a handy list of notable 4K Blu-ray collections on Amazon.

If Tolkien content isn’t enough to rule your bookshelf, the good news is that more Lord of the Rings books are on sale as part of Target’s B2G1 sale.
