No Man’s Sky’s latest update is called World Update Part One, and it looks like a pretty big one, even if you can tell from its name that there’s more to come. Now, you can look forward to some heavily revamped planetary biome tech, which should make things even more immersive, as well as new adventures involving flamethrower-packed mech suits.
This latest update joins a series that Hello Games has deployed so far this year, including the Omega update, the Orbital update that finally brought us ship customization, and the Adrift update that taught us how to feel a little lonely. To be fair, it’s hard for me to top giving people my ride on Star Pimp.

As stated in its patch notes and trailer below, the first part of the world focuses on making planetary biomes feel more immersive, thanks to some new technology developed by Hello while developing Light No Fire, and now Feeding back to the network management system.
From improved waters that allow for waves and reflections – now allowing ships to land – to improved cloud cover and volumetric weather effects that can wrap around “rolling fog, rain, blizzards, [and] “Lava Sparks” blend into the existing wind and cloud settings to make things feel more tactile and real, which was the big goal here.

“Sometimes, when a storm hits, you see the waves rise and the clouds gather. The new winds, clouds, ocean, atmosphere all come crashing together, and it feels like there’s nothing there,” said Sean Murray, founder of Hello ) said in a deep dive. “In these new biomes, we’re adding new organisms to discover,” he added. “We’re further increasing the level of possible diversity. It’s not enough to just add more, we want to do what no one has done before. Of course, these new creatures can be pets and mounts.
In addition to these additions, there is also a new adventure, Murray revealed: “We made something very Starship Troopers-inspired, it’s really different and it takes you on some cool new adventures. planet.
I don’t know about you, but to me it sounds a bit like it took inspiration from Helldiver 2 for this mission, which is cool.
