what happened Our last one Season 2 debut, “The Days of the Future”?
Season 2’s debut “Future Day” begins with the final scene of Season 1, based on the iconic finale of 2013 Our last one video games. In it, Joel assured Ellie that he was telling the truth about what happened between him, Ellie and the Firefly—the audience would know it was a lie. The scene reminds viewers of a show two years ago and sets the stage for Ellie and Joel’s tension this season.
It was followed by a chilly open scene in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the season 1 finale taking place. Here we are introduced to the protagonist Abby in the second season (Kaitlyn Dever)With her friend Manny (Danny Ramirez), Mel (Ariela Bars), Nora (Tati Gabrielle) and Owen (Spencer Lord), when they discuss Given the deaths of most fireflies, how to move forward.
In this conversation, Irving mentioned moving to Seattle, Washington, following rumors about a mysterious paramilitary organization that has a community with supply.
Abby, quietly raging and griefing at Dever, turns to the group and says she is committed to avenging her at all costs and must remove the person who killed her father, a person who the audience knows (Joel). In this sequence, Abby encounters a relatively sympathetic adjustment until she insists that Joel must “die slowly.” Although such a sequence is not seen in video games, which later introduces a character’s unclear motivation, adaptability works better for the TV show, creating potential tension throughout the rest of the episode.
Since Abby will be one of the driving forces in season 2, introducing her to her Cold Open right away is a huge change.

Then, we cut in five years. Ellie lives in a thriving Jackson, Wyoming neighborhood, and it seems like it’s winter. We saw Jackson’s house in the snow more than last season. In a brief montage, life around Jackson is shown, and everyone assists the community in any way, including Ellie and Joel.
Ellie learns to fight better combat through simulation Conflict with fellow Jackson residents.
us yes Introduce to her teacher and friend Jesse (Young teeth), Joel asked who Pay close attention to her. When he’s worried She pushes herself hard in the scene, and Ellie reacts strongly and resentfully, telling him to follow Joel’s instructions.
Next, we will reintroduce JoelIsabela Merced), he approached him to help repair the wiring. When he teaches her how to do this, Dina asks why Ellie is angry with him, which makes Joel’s defense make them “first time figuring this out”, referring to the loss of his former daughter, Ellie loses her parents, and neither of them has experience with the fake relationship.
Joel declared: “I tried” seems to regret the behavior that led to his relationship with Ellie.
During this conversation, Dina also observed that Joel was undergoing treatment – another change in the game, which could have interesting potential consequences as the season progresses.
Then, this episode cuts down Joel’s brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna), who is teaching Ellie to use snipers. When he tells Ellie that she is taken away on patrol, she reacts angrily because she knows Joel is asking him to be busy. She declared “I am an adult” and then added loudly, “I am immune!”, which is Jackson’s secret. Tommy gave up in frustration, put Ellie back on the patrol and pointed out her similarities to Joel. He said, “You are the same person.”
In the following order, Joel and Maria discuss Jackson’s life reality (Rutina Wesley), local leader and Tommy’s wife. He expressed distrust of outsiders and how they should stop letting strangers enter the community. By contrast, Joel plays with Maria’s son, kind, and asks him why he wants a wall: “Shut the monsters out.” Maria pointed out sharply that Joel and Ellie were once strangers, and they were allowed.
When Tommy joins Joel and Maria, he lied to the conversation with Ellie.
Joel goes to treatment.
The next scene shows Joel visiting his therapist Gail (Katherine O’Hara). It was her birthday, so she drank wine. Their dynamics are weird, with potential tension. Joel was excited about her, but she was relatively hesitant and angry.
At the meeting, he praised Dina, saying she was “like human beings” and talking about how he was angry about Ellie’s emotional distance and lack of communication. Still, he is struggling to reconcile with the potential causes of Ellie’s anger. Gail called him for this, saying that he was lying and had to miss something. “You can’t heal unless you speak it out loud,” she said. Trying to prove her point of view, she then says she hates Joel, hates their therapy classes, and wants him to leave the house. It was quickly revealed: Joel killed Gail’s husband Eugene, for reasons that are not yet clear to the audience. This isn’t in the game, and it’s an exciting and interesting new development for fans like me who might think they’ve figured it out all season.
Gail then asked Joel if he had done something to her, and he replied, “I saved her” and left. It’s a very good sequence for both actors until the explosion breaks out, boiling with quiet tension.

Then we see Ellie listening to music in her room, cleaning the gun and modifying the music, a brief reference to the game’s core mechanic. Dina visited her and the two of them conducted reconnaissance patrol together. They have a fun, light friendship, both actors perform well and their connection is immediately obvious.
The next day, both were patrolling. Because they were talking about boys, rather than focusing all their attention on work, Jesse asked Elia and Dina to take this more seriously because people looked up to them, especially the kids in the community.
Ellie asks Dina recently breaking up with Jesse, who is going to dance New Year’s Eve. Dina jokes that Ellie takes the only outspoken lesbian in the community she shot down. Their romantic tensions were done very well and felt organic and understandable.
Ellie and Dina then encounter a dear bear, infected with the dead outside a rundown supermarket. After a few awkward puns and dad’s jokes, they decided to go into the supermarket to check what happened. This sequence stands out from the game and works well on the show. in addition, The clicker’s horror performance is excellent, one of which is an incredibly dangerous image, thanks to the incredible sound design.
After Ellie fell into many infections, Ellie entered the market below, where she heard strange, strange noises that weren’t a very click-through person, but weren’t often infected. This sequence marks the introduction of The Stalker, a terrifying zombie brand in the game where the player is exactly where they are. Adapting to the show’s series of horrible hide-and-seek sequences, in which Ellie sneaks around a shabby grocery store and plays the game of the mind and follows her, it’s a terrible and exciting moment that feels like many people missing with the infected in the first season.
Ellie kills the stalker and is bitten in the process, hiding the wound in Dina.
We then saw them justify their decision to the Jackson Council, expressing remorse, but confident that they made the right call. The Council gave them a small punishment, but let them go away and set up a New Year’s Eve party.
In a particularly inner sequence, we see Ellie sliced the bitten skin and sewed it, presumably to avoid suspecting she is immune. This is a private shot with quiet intensity and obvious sadness.
Joel then visits Ellie. They had awkward, nervous chat until Joel noticed that her guitar needed to restrain her. He took it away.

The last part of this episode is the New Year’s Eve party. One of the most famous and iconic parts of the 2020s Our final second part Video games, sequences are urgently needed In the emotional first episode, it adds impetuousness and brightness. It is intimate, beautiful and incredibly instructive.
In this sequence, Dina and Ellie Dance, when Ellie claims everyone is staring at Dina, she answers that they are staring at Ellie. “They are scared of you,” she said. The painful moments between him set the stage for their ongoing, turbulent relationship dynamics that will develop throughout the season.
But their moment is interrupted when gays call both SL veins and then Joel attacks the man. Ellie yelled at him, getting angry at him intervening and saying she didn’t need his help.
Then, the plot ends with a montage. Ellie visits Joel at his house, sitting on the porch playing guitar (will surely meet game fans on guitar), before leaving. Abby’s group approached Jackson from a distance, with cold and terrifying anger in his eyes. The infected mycelium comes from the open pillars used for construction. Jackson’s horrible things are…
“The days ahead” It’s an emotional, complex premiere
“The days ahead” Start Season 2 Our last one With emotional riveting and complex start plots, the conflicts this season are good. The show obviously wanted to take the time to adapt our second part, the behemoth of the game, which is the best call they can make because it allows for instant breathing and brings the complexity of having an impact on the audience to the room. While those who yearn for a more explosive or dynamic debut may be overwhelmed, viewers will surely miss out on the peace and tranquility of the premiere once a future episode begins.
