Actor Glen Powell has been making waves in Hollywood with multiple roles in high-profile films such as Top Gun: Maverick, The Hitman, Anyone But You and Twister, But will he star in a comic book movie next?
Powell told The Playlist that he loves DC and Marvel movies, but no one from those studios has called to offer him a role — at least not yet (Powell, however, has a small role in a Batman movie). “You know I’ve never gotten a call from DC or Marvel,” he said. “But I’m a fan of everything they do.”
Powell went on to say that he saw Deadpool and Wolverine and said he loved it. “I think Sean [Levy] and ryan [Reynolds] Doing this is extraordinary for the audience and is an interesting flavor. I cheer for them. what i like [they do],” he said.
Powell also praised DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran, saying he believed the pair’s takeover of the film studio would be “very good for the business.”
However, Powell has appeared in a DC movie. He had a very small role in The Dark Knight Rises, playing a stockbroker who was choked to death by Bane (Tom Hardy). Powell also talked about his desire to one day play Batman, saying he has a “crazy vision” for the character.
In May, Powell spoke of his desire to avoid “Marvel fare” in future work. “The key is to choose where to make the audience happy and where to make yourself happy,” he said of future roles.
