The Event Industry Committee (EIC) released an update of international standards (CMP-IS) for its certification meeting on Thursday. This is the first major revision of the core capabilities of certification plans since 2017.
The update process includes a global survey that evaluates the focus group and prejudice and effective testing by PROMETRIC. The new test will be conducted from April 1st, and the update version will be launched in August 2025. Later this year, the updated EIC manual will be released.
EIC President and CEO Amy Calvert said: “As our industry continues to develop, adapts and innovates, the CMP plan is developing to ensure its correlation.”
These changes follow the opinions of more than 1,000 theme experts. Heather Seasholtz, chairman of the CMP Governance Committee, said: “The global CMP community is proud of its commitment to continue learning and the highest professional level.” She added: “The update of CMP international standards proves our continuous pursuit of excellence.”
The revised standards are introduced through three new areas: sustainability and social impact (5 %), technical integration (5 %) and evaluation process (5 %), reflecting a major change in the conference industry. These additions have reduced the weight of the event in the exam from 34 % to 25 %, and on -site management has been reduced from 14 % to 10 %. Risk management has increased from 5 % to 7 % of the test content, while the part of financial management has decreased from 11 % to 7 %.
“We thank many of the CMPs who voluntarily participated in the project, especially the CMP of the CMP Governance Committee. EIC Board Chairman and International Conference and Conference Association (ICCA) Senthil Gopinath said:” Their contributions will help prepare elastic labor labor. Essence
