When I was ten, the decisions I made would change my life forever. I am a precocious child. I didn’t do business and no one told me to stop. One day, when I happened to use the word “comic artist”, I was reading an aunt’s encyclopedia. I don’t know what that means, but I know that’s my future.
I just finished Paper Mario: The Door of a Thousand Yearsthe game I keep Game whistleblower Advertising pages in my pink plaid wallet for months. On my tenth birthday, I received the game on her aunt’s black sofa. In the second year, this will change my life. By the time I got to the end of that match Chapter 3, I decided to use the rest of my life as a storyteller. I don’t know how I did it or what I would do, but I’m going to be a storyteller.
When I was 12, I got the comic Kamichama Karin and Shugo Charafind my answer. I read early on my uncle always had fun in the newspaper where I visited my aunt. I’m reading the captain’s panties and doing my own flip on the school notebook that my mom bought for me – Morama (sorry, mom). However, reading the comic made me click on me. I want to make a comic, I just need to find a way. Next year, I will use my laptop to build long-term, well-crafted stories and give my friends half an hour before the start of middle school. When I’m out of paper, I use computer paper and insert it with them into temporary “chapters”.
In all of this, I would read the comics meanly. Comics, graphic novels, floppy disks, you can name them. I would study them and write notes in a sketchbook until after college. I made comics between my jobs as a library assistant in high school. I want to publish. By whom? Who knows, but I want to publish it. Most importantly, I want to contribute to the industry I love.
However, the industry has changed over the years. Some are good, such as the emergence of Kickstarter and the crowdfunding Renaissance in the 2010s, and the influence Gamergate has had in all nerd cultures. I won’t give up gamergate and Disassemble material Here, but I’m going to say that the damage has been caused. I hardly know, or most Americans, that those who scream at the “morality in the game” will eventually show up Designing the White House Policy.
I’ve written it twice About the status of publication Booking ban. I thought (wrongly) that with the upcoming Harris administration we will be able to leave the whole thing behind us and the ban will stop. The moment when the country will be authorized for the federal mandate of diversified books will never come.
OK, here.
Book Wars are here. With the sludge Ellsthis List of prohibited words for research institutions and Attack on major law firmsthe Trump administration made it clear that this is “a war against Dei.” It hopes that books, research, university courses, students and teachers will bend their knees or close them all over the country.
The Trump administration is erasing images, books and works, past, present and future from all marginalized communities. NASA Deleted comics About the first woman to go to space, this is the modern burn of the Institute of Sexual Science in 1933.
This article will be different from the other two articles I wrote about book review and the 2025 project. These papers target smaller independent comic creators. However, this article is based on potential personal and professional costs for publishers dedicated to the industry.
So here it comes.
As mentioned before, the book war is here. When we say that, IMLS is being destroyed and employees are tortured and fired. The publishing world is mainly about this Gravity it needs. American consumers are watching the economic collapse due to tariffs and inflation. Sales figures from 2020/2021 will end.
I know the tariffs will mean that books in the publishing industry will be closer. Starting growth in book sales in the industry from 2020/2021 Nearly $2 billion a year Begin to calm down and enter the new plateau of the industry. I fully expect that all tariffs affecting major countries in the publishing field (such as Japan, Canada and France) will make the industry not only slip away Just like in 2023 But fell in 2025. At the time of writing, the stock market is in extreme volatility.
That means publishers will be less willing to gamble on the experimental boundaries that drive the project. The imprint will be closed. However, books on BIPOC, LGBT and people with disabilities are not “boundary”, and books on abortion are not “experimental”. They are Necessary. Now, it’s not time to succumb to the agitator and his happy paranoid band. There is blood in the water, and it’s time to make sure everyone is on board. We still need projects to be green so that each of us has it.
I know there will be legal challenges. If history serves us, it will come from A small group of people Who invests too much in other people’s business. Don’t succumb to them. They (this is a minority) are the “victory” of canceling DEI measures and cheating federal programs. Human resources and financial costs are used to donate to this government. The target lost 40% of its stock value to revoke its DEI measures, and Students refuse to accept letter to Colombia Used to expel their students.
Millions of people appear across the country to support the government to stay away from everything we cherish, whether it is reproductive rights, LGBT rights, BIPOC rights, and more. Most people in the country believe that writing and the perspectives of different people are net worth.
All in all, I know the times will be difficult. The industry estimates what we will be and what we will be. As a creator and reader, I hope (and many others) will include Bipoc, LGBT and different bodies.
