boys Star Antony Starr Season 4 of the show was recently revealed, with his character “Homelander” being compared to Trump, as well as a post-blockbuster Easter egg scene in the finale.
The show’s season finale was originally titled “The Assassination,” and took place before Donald Trump was assassinated. It ends with Homelander getting one step closer to the Oval Office… and being portrayed as more insane and ruthless than ever.
In an interview with Collider, Starr was asked if he still enjoys playing Homelander, to which he is often compared to Trump.
Although he didn’t mention Trump by name, it was clear who he was talking about. He said: “One of the greatest things that I love, and I do love this show, and I will continue to love as we go on, is that we’re able to add layers to this character.
“We’ve always made a conscious effort to make him three-dimensional and not have him twirling a mustache. I know Eric mentioned a certain political figure of our time as the basis for the character, and I think that’s right, but Ironically, I think the character has more dimensions than the person.
“I’ve been paying attention to that because there’s a lot of different human elements in there that we can really dig into. We’ve got to dig deep this season.
“We have some really deep, dark Homeland storylines that I’m excited for people to see. I’m proud of what we’ve done and I’m proud of our characters.
As for the Season 4 finale’s post-credits scene, Jensen Ackles reprises his role as Soldier Boy, setting the stage for the character’s return in the fifth and final season. It is revealed that Soldier Boy is Homelander’s father.
Anthony said: “First of all, just for personal and selfish reasons, I hope and pray that I get to have more scenes with Jason [Ackles] Because we really don’t. I feel like there’s more to discuss there. Selfishly, I really like Jason.
“When he came on board, he fit into it like peas and carrots, Forrest and Jenny. He was a great person to work with. We had a lot of fun. I think that relationship, in terms of the core of the character, is loneliness. And as far as wanting to connect, having a real dad, a real father, we haven’t explored that yet.
“There’s more gold in that seam for us to mine, so I’m excited about it. I don’t want to get my hopes up because I never know. I don’t know what Eric is going to do, but every time I Wrong. I’m just going to put those hopes out there and maybe he’ll see this and grant my wish.
What do you think of what Starr says here? If you’ve finished watching Season 4, what did you think of its ending?
