The Boys has added Daveed Diggs to the cast for its fifth and final season, but no details about the role have been revealed yet.
The Boys season 5 is a bit of a mystery overall at the moment considering how much bad stuff was left out of season 4, but there was at least a small update yesterday in the form of some casting news. “New [season 5] Crumbs,” the Boys’ official Twitter account wrote. “Let’s welcome Daveed Diggs to The Boys family, shall we? He’ll be playing a character in the show. That’s all you get now . With roles including Hamilton and the TV remake of Snowpiercer , there’s every reason to be confident that Diggs will be joining the cast – as long as you ignore the live-action The Little Mermaid remake.

Obviously, any news about The Boys season 5 will be welcomed by fans of the show, but unfortunately, the final season may still be a long time away. Back in July, Billy Butcher himself Karl Urban said that season 5 would be out in about 2 years, meaning it wouldn’t be out until 2026, so the wait It’s a long time and will probably end up being a 10 or so episode series. That’s not surprising considering the gap between almost every season was a few years ago, too, but it does illustrate how bad the TV industry is right now (remember we have 24-episode seasons every year).

At the very least, a second season of the 5X spinoff is set to launch next year, with a second spinoff also in the works and a third being considered after the fourth season premieres. Essentially, The Boys doesn’t end (for better or worse) even after The Boys ends.
