Flintlock: Siege of Dawn There may not be as many weapons as other more traditional Souls, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a variety of options to choose from when deciding how to build your character. From axes and hammers to an array of unique guns, you’ll definitely want to do some thinking before you head into battle.

But while the weapon that’s best for you will obviously be the one you enjoy using, we believe the following options are the strongest overall choices for most builds.
flintlockbest melee weapons
Melee weapons are your bread and butter flintlock, so you’ll want to make sure you’re using one that suits your play style. Here are the two weapons we think are best suited for most close combat scenarios.
Herald’s Ax
timeThe Herald’s Ax is the best all-around melee weapon you can find. It will violently attack with combustion effect Over time, it stacks onto your enemies causing damage.

Inflicting this status effect should make it easier to switch from one enemy to another when near death. Remember, you need to break the enemy’s armor first before the burn will start to affect them.
You can find the Herald’s Ax in a chest in Three Peaks after using the first Breakout Barrel in the Keeper of the Living quest.
Judge’s Hammer
The Judge’s Hammer is the best melee weapon flintlock Used to break enemy armor. Since many encounters require you to do this, especially later in the game, it never hurts to have this weapon. Keep in mind that your attacks will be much slower than with an axe.
You can find the Judge’s Hammer in a chest south of Writ City.

They’re crucial for interrupting an enemy’s unblockable attacks, landing headshots on enemy snipers, or even dealing instant damage, especially if you build your character with a focus on ranged attacks. Here are the two guns we think are best for most situations.
Noel’s pistol
Sometimes simple is best. Nor’s pistol certainly lacks unique additional effects or modifications that would make it stand out like many of the later pistols you’ll encounter. However, the gun’s three-shot charge and rapid fire make it a killer choice for interrupting incoming attacks, taking out bad guys with low health, or taking out enemies that might be shooting at you nearby while you’re in a melee encounter.
Noel’s pistol is the starting weapon in the game flintlock.
Archer’s musket
Marksman’s Musket is another example of putting simplicity above all else. This gun allows you to easily land nice headshots to take out snipers from long range. With some practice, you can even use it at mid-range against slower enemies for massive damage.
even better is, Getting the perfect reload will cause you to take double damage the next time you shoot. While other sidearms you come across may offer better scenario-specific uses, this basic rifle is an all-around option that you always have with you.
