All three books are illustrated by Alan Lee, a popular artist who has contributed to several Tolkien books as well as Peter Jackson’s adaptations of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit contributed.

Amazon will not charge you for your pre-order until your book ships, and any discounts offered between your order and publication will be automatically applied.

    $325 | Released October 1

The Lord of the Rings Deluxe Illustrated Set is an improved version of the gorgeous series first launched in 1992. It has been “revised and expanded” to include more than 50 new pencil drawings and paintings by Alan Lee in three books: The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers and The Return of the King, it is said The three books total 1,332 pages, which appears to be the highest page count of any edition of The Lord of the Rings currently in print.

Each book features a redesigned cover, prominent silver foil typescript on the blue spine, and a hardcover binding made of cloth and leather. The gorgeous gray slipcase features a silver foil logo.

Inside the decorative slipcase you’ll also find three unique removable art cards and a pair of fold-out maps of Middle-earth. The maps were drawn by Christopher Tolkien, who edited and transformed his father’s extensive writings into numerous supplementary books, including The Silmarillion and 11 additional books on the history of Middle-earth.

To be clear, the Deluxe Illustrated Edition of The Lord of the Rings is different from the popular 2021 edition drawn by Tolkien.
