The groundbreaking platformer video game. This is arguably the greatest video game controller tutorial of all time. Batman: Shadow of Arkham
Developer: camouflage

platform: Meta task 3
It’s not going to be a video game choice for a comic site unless we include superheroes, in which case I’d go with Batman: Shadow of Arkham. In the weird era where Suicide Squad killed off the Arkham series, this fantastic VR adventure might be one of the best things to come out of Meta Quest 3. , you can punch and beat enemies just like real enemies. While it’s a short game, and there are plenty of issues with the VR game itself, the fact that they fit so closely with the Arkham series’ traditional gameplay makes this game a much-needed addition to the list. —Christian Angeles
Black Myth: Wukong

game science Black Myth: Wukong Quite a grand debut. The game is based on Chinese mythology and successfully retells the classic Eastern story. journey to the west. Wukong’s combat and game design bear great resemblance to Elden Ring, but with more accessibility and simpler gameplay. It has also sold 20 million copies, making it one of the best-selling games of all time. However, the GOTY contender has been embroiled in controversy About review requests Comments were made on behalf of the developers regarding any criticism of the Chinese government, Covid-19 and, oddly enough, their concern was any form of American “feminist propaganda”. The worst thing is Some practices discovered behind the scenes According to IGN, the company engaged in sex discrimination. Still, it’s a big enough game to be included on this list, but it’s obvious why it didn’t win a ton of awards. —Christian Angeles

After ten years and two reboots, the fourth game in the Dragon Age series was released in October, boasting exciting combat and the strongest companion family yet. For the first time, the protagonist of Dragon Age is a true nobody, and the fact that they care and gather other people who care as allies allows them to save the world of Thedas, which is a very timely theme. It builds on 15 years of lore and offers interesting payouts and revelations about the Elven gods and the Old Gods of Tevinter, while raising new questions, especially about the future of the Titans. Veiled Keeper marks the first time the Dragon Age series has had good hair options for character creation, but more importantly, it has Bioware’s first disabled female companion, first non-binary companion, and first Secondary player characters can be transgender and/or non-binary. The improvement in quality of life and representation is refreshing and hopeful for the future of the series. – Lloyd class

Indiana Jones and the Circle
Developer: Machine Games, Bethesda Studios
platform: PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5
Created by the brilliant developers behind everyone’s favorite Nazi-murdering one-player army game Wolfenstein, we’ve once again continued our tradition of giving Nazis a harrowing life experience (and rightfully so). The story takes place between the events of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Temple of Doom”. We will play Indiana Jones in 1937, following a series of clues to explore the mystery of the Great Circle and its rumored power, traveling around the world. Despite not qualifying for the 2024 GOTY Awards, it’s still one of the best games of the year. Running on the iconic ID Tech Engine 7, an engine that dates back to the original Wolfenstein. The game’s graphics are stunning, with models and environments that are nearly photo-realistic. The gameplay is very diverse for a first-person game, with elements from other games mixed together in an effective and non-fatiguing way. One of the highlights has to be the acting as well, Troy Baker does an amazing job as Indiana Jones that makes you forget this isn’t Harrison Ford voicing the character in the game. There’s also the talented Tony Todd, who plays a surprising role in the story, his final video game character posthumously. This is a game worth playing because you love adventure and feel like you’ve taken on the role of the iconic Indiana Jones. — Justin Guerrero

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Developer: Longwo Five Virtues Studio
Posted by: SEGA
platform: PS4, PS5, Windows, Xbox Series X|S
it is like a dragon But with a Hawaiian-themed upgrade, that’s why the game was so popular last year. Widely regarded by fans as one of the best games in the series, Infinite Fortune essentially takes what worked in the previous game and streamlines it all with more efficient, less cumbersome systems. It’s a beautiful and realistic game with a silly JRPG-esque worldview. Plus, there are now so many dynamic combat elements and tons of quests and stories, as well as a new set of fantastic characters. This is a great addition to the series and a worthy contender for Game of the Year. —Christian Angeles
Metaphor: ReFantasia
Developer: studio zero
Posted by: Mix it up, Atlas
platform: PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox Series X|S
“Metaphor: ReFantazio” is a new fantasy IP from the developers of the “Shin Megami Tensei” and “Persona” games. The title of this game is very unindicative, but it is one from start to finish. Pure fun. The game centers on a protagonist who comes from the lowest rung of a fantasy caste system. From there, he must rally allies from diverse tribes around the world to stop fascism and end racism, while trying to uncover the world’s long-hidden secrets. Unlike most Atlus products, this game is rated T (Teen) because it doesn’t actually feature any actual religious character cameos. Additionally, unlike most Atlus productions, although it may get dark, the entire production maintains an uplifting atmosphere as it is a recreation of the fantasy genre that preaches hope and overcoming anxiety to control one’s destiny.
This game is undoubtedly a product of the Persona games raised by SMT’s grandparents, and if set in the D&D universe, this game is basically Persona. It won multiple awards and was nominated for many more, each of which it deserved. I was hired to write a complete walkthrough for the game, and even though I had to know every detail of the main story, it still fascinated me. Metaphor: ReFantazio is a JRPG that makes an impactful statement during trying times, making sure you know that not only is fantasy not dead, but that it can and will always impact real life. – William Quant

From its eerie atmosphere to its unique audio design, the game proves to be a faithful adaptation of the game, staying true to many of the original’s mechanics. While the shoulder-mounted camera adds to a more modern look, the story remains the same, a psychological questioning of our darkest subconscious desires that manifest into horrific monsters. —Christian Angeles
