TFAW.com, aka another world e-commerce portal, is closed on April 30. Three brick-and-mortar stores – two in Oregon, one on a walk around Universal City in Burbank, California – will remain open.
TFAW (Things from Another World) begins with a comic shop owned by the owner of the Dark Horse Mike Richardson 1980. In the 90s, it expanded to a range of shops, including famous locations in the popular Universal City stroll. Launched in the early stages of e-commerce and calling itself “the third largest comic retailer in the United States,” TFAW.com offers a wide range of comics, toys and collectibles.

In January, TFAW announced it would end its membership program, which is perhaps the first sign that the site is having problems. Not long after, Dark Horse also announced that its digital comics platform was closing. These actions were encountered in the difficulties of the dark horse parent company and led to the reduction of the dark horse.
According to the TFAW website, they will stop bookings on April 9, which will be the last day that will be processed. April 21 is the last date for ordering items in stock.
On April 30, the website will be offline.
TFAW customers on Reddit responded in shock, praising TFAW as a reliable place to not only buy comics, but also to book them – something that many other sources lack.
Whether it’s the Embracer problem encountered in tfaw.com or the diamond bankruptcy is the last straw, readers are losing reliable sources of online comics, publishers are losing a big store, which is another sign of change and annoying. As a journalist, I am also very sad: TFAW websites are an important source of images and information, and Diamond’s website is in trouble, and God only knows we will get the cover from here.
