budget friendly Pokemon Retro Set Mega Bloks are even more affordable this week. These adorable building sets normally sell for $25, but are on sale for just $17.49 at Target as part of the retailer’s Circle Week sale. This is the first time we’ve seen any sort of discount on pixel art showcase models of Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and more first-generation Pokémon.
Pokemon retro sets contain 323 to 434 pieces, so you get the best value for your money. If you’re a long-time Pokemon fan who misses the days of fighting static Pokemon monsters on the Game Boy, then you should definitely check out the Retro series, which will be available until October 12th. notes: You’ll need to sign up for a free Target Circle Rewards membership to take advantage of these deals and the retailer’s other deals this week. Target is the only major retailer currently offering vintage sets, so you won’t find these deals on Amazon Prime Big Deal Days. Target is also the only retailer to have the Xbox 360 Mega Showcase Building Set, a 1,342-piece model of Microsoft’s iconic game console, on sale at Target Circle for $100 (originally $150).
All Pokemon in the retro set series are from the first generation. Series mascot and Pokemon Yellow starter Pikachu is obviously a part of the series. The two newest members of the lineup are Mew and Eevee, released in August. Each Pokémon comes with a shelf display, but you can also mount the pixel art Pokémon to your playroom wall. Each Pokemon is approximately six inches tall and is officially licensed by The Pokemon Company.
As you can see above, the pixel art design of the Mega retro Pokemon figure would probably look great on the shelf next to the new Super Mario World LEGO set, which features pixel art depictions of Mario and Yoshi for features. LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi releases on October 1 and is in stock at Target, Amazon, and LEGO stores.
While you’re shopping for these retro-themed brick sets at Target, be sure to check out the retailer’s wider range of LEGO deals. Target is launching a slew of Lego sets this week with a 30% discount.
