superman and lois is one of the few superhero TV shows in The CW’s lineup that never got the San Diego Comic-Con treatment. The show began production before the pandemic, and after several virtual years and strikes, 2024 marks the show’s first year.

The producers admit that this was less a creative choice and more one they were forced to make due to the pandemic. During the show’s first two seasons, not being able to crossover characters felt wrong and strange, and fans would ask questions.
However, the creators soon realized that the reset superman and lois In another multiverse, shows can do what they want without worrying about what the other four shows are doing. That makes sense considering how different the show looks (and feels). (Holbrook joked that this prevented Supergirl from showing up and asking why everything in Kansas was so broken.)
Hoechlin was asked many questions about playing the role of Superman and why he chose to star in the series. He admits he turned it down at first—Superman was so finished that it was hard to explain it. Until Berlanti told him this wasn’t a superhero series, “It’s just friday night lights Dad happens to have super powers. But when he was asked if he was suitable for the outfit, he hesitated, visibly embarrassed.
When asked what she thought of Lois, Tulloch, who goes by the pseudonym Bitsie, cited the character’s history, which saw her appearing alongside Superman in 1938. Her wrecking ball attitude was very progressive for the time, when women didn’t work. She said she was honored to play the role from the beginning.
As the show enters its final season, Helbing admitted that it gave them the freedom to go all out since there was no next season to worry about, so they decided to kick off the new season with Superman’s death. After thanking fans who had been in the room throughout the night, Tulloch said she knew it was disappointing that the show was only going on for four rounds, but she believed James Gunn And believe in the new vision for the DC Universe.
