We are at that time again, true believers. The Eternals have left their mark Marvel Snapshot (for free), I’m sure we’ll be dealing with some of them for a long time to come, but overall it’s time for them to pack up and go home. If you didn’t know, Marvel has a new movie coming out soon. Deadpool and Wolverine Second Supper looks poised to be Marvel Studios’ first movie of the year, and you can bet the team behind Second Supper won’t let that slip away without some recognition.
But first, as usual, I have to point out that the passionate and hilarious Ben Brode is already set to explain the next season of Maximum Effort. There’s a lot more to Deadpool’s festivities than just that, so I won’t go into details about the new season as usual. I recommend you watch the video if you can, but if you can’t I’ll try to get the gist.
So, new season. It starts today and features quite a few Deadpool and Deadpool-related characters. The season pass card is Gwen Pool, and yes, I know she doesn’t actually have anything to do with Deadpool other than naming it. Frankly, she wants to be a monster card, a 4 cost 6 power card with power-boosting abilities that’s ripe for the taking in the right hands.
As for the rest of the cards, we have Bob from Hydra, a 1 cost 4 power card that moves when someone snaps. Then we have Ajax, a 5 cost 5 power card that gains power for every power card lost. Next, the copycats. 3 mana, 5 power, steal text from your opponent’s deck when drawing a card. Finally, there’s Cassandra Nova. She has a cost of 3, a power of 1, and her “reveal” ability steals 1 power from every card in your opponent’s deck. Neat.
The game’s latest mode “Deadpool’s Dinner” will be launched on July 23. The exact rules are not yet fully established, but you can earn rewards by betting on Bubs. Actually, it sounds a bit like Conquest mode, but with extra captures. You’ll be able to get Cassandra Nova in this mode, so it’s worth at least trying.
Alliances will finally be added to the game at the end of July. Again, how this all works isn’t fully detailed yet, but you’ll be able to team up with other players to complete missions and earn some sweet rewards. I think we all love these rewards. Also coming soon are leagues, specifically Deadpool League. You will be paired with other players in a group and try to compete with them through normal gameplay. There are rewards here too. Finally, the theme for the August season has been announced: Young Avengers! That should be a good thing.
That more or less outlines the highlights of Deadpool festivities over the summer Marvel Snapshot. It looks like we can expect some really good new cards, plus a ton of free rewards for playing the game normally. This sounds like a win-win to me.
