Sony 3000 Pictures’ upcoming Sublime biopic has found Bradley Nowell.
KJ Apa will play the late singer in the film directed by Justin Chon. The untitled project is currently in development, with Chon writing the script alongside Bobby Hundreds following an initial draft by Chris Mundy.
Producers for Chenin Entertainment include Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and David Ready. Executive producers include surviving Sublime members Bud Goff and Eric Wilson, as well as Troy Nowell and Jacob Nowell representing the estate of Bradley Nowell.
Francis Lawrence, who was initially attached to Direct before exiting due to scheduling conflicts, will also serve as executive producer.

Marisa Paiva is overseeing the biopic for 3000 Pictures, while Chernin Entertainment director of development Jamie Spetner is overseeing Chernin.
Sublime Hailing from Long Beach, California, this alternative rock band’s breakout moment was their 1996 self-titled third studio album sublimationwas released two months after Nowell died of a drug overdose at age 28. Lead singer.
Appa is best known for his role as Archie in the show riverdalesigned last year after seven seasons.
